I'm toying with the idea of lowering my FJ40. The previous owner had done a spring over axle lift in the back which would be straight forward to undo but in the front the front shackle mount was removed and extended pieces were welded to the frame extending the spring eye down about 7''. I think these pieces can be cut off and the welds ground down. and a pair of stock perches could be bolted in where the originals were once riveted. Are stock spring perches still available ? Any photos of the stock set up and or advice would be appreciated. Part of the motivation for this project is going back to stock rims and skinny tires plus at my age it would be a bit easier to climb into the rig, add to that while I do off road it I don't do any hard corp terrain anymore. Opinions on all of this is welcome.

You have an old style shackles reversal , it give 1.5" of lift , you can keep it if you plan 33x9.5 on stock wheels .
If you chose to go back to the stock , you will need the shackles hangers and spring hangers

I have the shackle and spring hangers for going back to stock.

You need all the 4 hangers if you go back to stock set up with shackles in front

Spring reversal with stock height would be ok by me and less work if it will function as well or better than original. I am not going for a full restoration with my 40.
