nice details

It appears to have anti wrap on rear axle and those look like revolver
shackles on the rear. Nice sliders. I assume it has an air filter and you
removed it for photos. Nice cage too. I noticed it is fitted with zerks
on the front shackle. The cable thingie is part of the speedo and also
"secretly" records mileage.
I noticed no hook sticking out of the roller fairlead. What's the story there?
Does it have lockers?
Again, congrats and we hope to see it in person soon.

Did you buy that off ebay?

I copied the picture of your roll bar - that is sweet - I am fabricating .......

I do not understand it but I like it when your first got it better.

Maybe it is the green or maybe the diamond plating.

I do not understand.

It does not really matter what I think anyway, it is what you think.

Why is this in Tech again

Air filter is missing the top should be here fri.

The guy who had it before broke the cable (about 5 feet off the end)

I have no idea how to tell if it has lockers. Can you give me a clue?

NO he had it listed on e-bay but took it off to sell to me since I had talked to him before finding out it was on e-bay. (bad wording)

I think I got it for a great price. Especially with all the extras and the little amount of rust it has.

I don't like the diamond plating either. This is how I bought it I've only had it a couple of days so getting it the way I like it will take some time but it has a lot of the stuff I wanted already on it.

I really don't understand you subliminal post.

I misunderstood. I thought you had made the changes!!! Sorry.

My other comment was you linked this in tech when really it should probably be linked in chat.

to check for lockers, jack up the rear end so that both tire are off the ground and turn one of the wheels by hand, if the wheels spin in the same direction you have a locker, if they spin in oppisite directions you have open diffs. So goes for testing the front just make sure to look the hubs first...........

Good luck, and I hope it does have lockers, otherwise you will have to ordersome asap

I'm not a 40 guy but your first one looks like an earlier model, no bezel....just curious, what do i know, i drive a 60

Gehn, someone just removed the bezel, the only models that did not have the bezel were the fj25s and they had slatted radiator opeing like jeep grills except they were horizontal slats and not vertical like jeeps........

Also the hood is not a split hood like is a one piece like mine, so I believe that means it is 70 and up, and he says it is a 71 so it fits......

you need to brush up on your FJ40 trivia before you buy one.........:flipoff2:

Forgive me as I am a rookie. Thou hast shown me the way.

Heck Trollhole the whole dang Upstate Crusers section is chat. This whole thread
is about your trucks. Chat would love to see the pics and stuff but don't leave
the upstate in the process. We ain't got no tech section. ;)
Chat your arse off here anytime.
I'm crossing my fingers 'n chanting for lockers for ya pal!
Ohm.....cruiser,cruiser,cruiser.....Ohm
Keep us posted. :)

If you dont have lockers maybe I can weld it up for you, if you arent gonna use it on the road a ton. I'm about to do mine sometime in the next couple weeks. Just need to get it pulled out of my spare axle.

roger that, must have been the 25s i was thinking of....

Oops Typo on the first pics. It's 73 not 71. And it came with no bezel and that's the way it stayed. I didn't have money for looks back then unless it could be bondo'd or painted with a can.
