I guess one of the bad things about owning a 76-77 FJ40 there is no easy cheap way to convert to an electronic setup without buying a new distributor. Anybody know something I don't that might make this a possibility?

Talk to Mark at mark's offroad. He's a Pertronix vendor now. There is a pertronix setup that fits that dissy, but for some reason, it's not listed in the pertronix automotive catalog. It's for a Toyota forklift or something. Mark is aware of the need for P-tronix to fit 75-77 dissys and said he was working on finding the part numbers for it.

I was able to modify the Pertronix plate on an earlier year kit and it has worked in my '76 dizzy. You need to grind out a prety good size notch in the plate but it isn't that big of a deal - try Mark first but it can be done.
