I would like to get rid of the stock parking brake completly, can I just bolt the Drive shaft onto the back of the Transfer Case ?

I'm going to do the rear disc w/parking brake conversion and thought getting rid of the parking brake drum would let me have a little longer Drive Shaft (engine/trans swap makes me have to get new drive shafts anyhow).

Has anyone done this ?

Sounds difficult if not impossible. The rear seal for the transfer case
is made on the rear brake drum. You might be able to get rid of the
guts of the parking brake and then cut the length of the drum down to
get (maybe) another 1 inch of rear driveshaft length. Again, I suspect
that this is not going to help you much.

It could and I beleive it has been done...

You would have to cut the rear output shaft down and then re-tap it for the output nut. They you would have to mill the parkbrake brum off and shorten it as well... lotta work for a 1" or so of gain...

more work than 1" or less is worth....I've considered it too, decided my fab time was better spent elsewhere....

Need a longer rear driveshaft?

Where is your rear axle located? Stock position?

Move it back...
