Funny I thought the consensus was 34s were the biggest you could fit under there.

Yeah, could be. I'm not sure. Presumably @drkdss has measured with a 34.7" tire in the spare location since he's listed that spec on his site.

But if 34" is the biggest that will fit in the spare location anyway, then that would mean this bracket really has no problems for anyone who's keeping a spare underneath.

100% I can get my 285/75/18 in the spare location with out the bracket. The bracket is 1/4” thick so it scoots the trac bar ( I know you guys call it pan hard but I’m just going to keep calling it a trac bar 😆) back about 1/4”. I say about because it’s the passenger side that gets push rear ward and not the whole bar since we are not doing anything to driver side except loosening the bolt on driver side for install if you have oem trac bar or trac bar that has oem style joints.

I've been waiting for this to become available! Was sort of expecting an announcement or something in this thread or in a new thread 😂
Sorry I just don’t want to blow this thread up with my stuff since I’m not a vendor and what not. I don’t plan to be one either. Done it before and really doesn’t benefit me because I have a lot of reach thru Insta and Facebook.

In case anyone was wondering what it looks like not attached to the vehicle.

Installed the drkdss kit today. Very straightforward and went smoothly. A couple pics...

The kit and installation video are awesome! Well thought out. I took the 200 out on some roads that upset the suspension on curves and the improvement is quite noticeable. To me it feels like the stability improvement is the same order of magnitude going from stock suspension to OME. I know folks are interested in clearance, so I took a picture with my K02 265/70R18 tire in place:

My tire spec is 32.6" diameter. I'd bet I have at least another 3/4"-1" available if I were to pull the tire towards the rear of the vehicle as I raised it into place. Overall quite happy with this kit!

Sweet. Thanks for the pics and feed back. This is how close I was with out my bracket and a 295/75/18 ( 34.8”) . And yes I pulled it back towards the rear as it goes up. Just so happens that the bolt on bracket scoots it back about 1/4 and that was enough to make contact. I might make a really skinny billet trac bar to make it work.

Would it be possible for you to provide the link to the installation video you mentioned? Thank!

Does adding this kit necessitate an alignment afterward? I would imagine it shifts the rear axle slightly.
If your steering angle changes on the freeway then that’s an indicator the axle moved enough to alter toe, and you need an alignment.

My gut is telling me it wouldn’t unless you were very tall in the back.

Sorry if I missed it, but do we have a definitive answer on if the drkdss option will clear a 285/70/18 or 285/75/17?

I would think it would change the thrust angle but not your front tire toe as I thought that's just calculated against each other? So I would expect it would help with correct a slight pull but not require a new alignment unless your cross-caster/cross-camber was too aggressive. But I'm not an alignment expert. Either way I'll report back when I'm done :)

I posted that with "is it something other than toe?" in the back of my head. You're correct.. thrust angle is what I was thinking about.

I’ve got a 285/75r17, and I’ve got plenty of space.

Edit: @reddog90 Photo added for posterity.

Was your trac bar hole off when you went to install the stock bolt? Mine is off about 1/2 inch??
This is the 2nd bracket from drkdss for me, I've got one installed on my sons 5th gen 4Runner and it was an easy install
They can’t be off they are all cnc laser and cnc brake bent. I mean it can be off but the chances are very very very slim. I replied to your email. Call me.

Edit.

Based off this pic you sent me. I’m positive your cab / frame just shifted over a good amount when you unbolted the trac bar. If it’s short on the upper home on the bracket , if you remove the bracket and try to rotate it back to oem whole , it’s going to be really shorty now. Grab a strap and pull your cab over from the tow hitch or jack up the axle on driverside
