Tax season is finally over so I can finally get this baby on the road.

74 Fj55, stock 1.5F, 4sp, headers, engine runs well, currently doing brake job all around.

Did a history on it. It actually came across the border at Naco about 18 years ago, and spent a fair amount of its life in Douglas, which is probably why it is not rusted out.

My '75 RJ55 imported from OZ. Pretty much stock (except for the Warn 8274 and the 33" Firestones) right down to the original paint.

Anyone interested in this PIG pls contact me ASAP. Last weekend I had to be towed back from our local desert - heard a knock in the original 2F and don't have the time to put her back in the shape she was in prior to this mishap. Right hand drive. 0% Rust. Re-sprung. New Koni's. New Tires. Rebuilt original 4 speed & transfer.

UPDATE:

I am an over the Big Rig (Flatbed) Driver now and don't have time to re-build my little piggy. Recently I imported a 5-speed tranny from OZ that I will sell with her. Asking $7500 OBO. Send me a private msg. for my address in North County San Diego and you can have a look-see.

I guess I should update that I am the current owner of this piggy, after it first visited 1tontoy and firstade along the way.

Hello All,
I recently(about a month ago) purchased a 1974 fj55 and I am absolutely loving it!!! The :pig: has long been my favorite LC body style and was lucky to find one locally (Bend OR) on craigslist and amazingly had the $ to purchase it:) I've had a few other vintage motorcycles and cars over the the years but this is my first LC. I've spent some good research/lurking time on this sight following some build ups ect. and trying to educate myself a bit. I know that there are others (fj55)here in town and at least a couple regulars on this forum that I would love to hook up with, that I might benefit from there experience and knowledge of this rare breed. I didn't get much info from the PO, and I haven't seen any pictures of it here, but it my be that it is known to some local cruiserheads? If so I'd love to talk to you and you're welcome to respond here or drop by 932 Tattoo on 8th street (that's my shop and the pig is out front). oh ya... it appears to be mostly stock strait 6 PO said was rebuilt about 7500 miles ago, a little cancer but definitely not as bad as what I've seen some people on here dealing with. I've got a small pile of parts to start with I just wanna make it safe -ish brake shoes, slave cylinder , TREs and a new front blinker ( it looks like the PO guerrilla glued the last one back on) but I plan to make it strong, lift it and take it back to the 2tone paint ect.
I'm gonna attempt to attach a photo now but I'm no computer wiz.
cheers:beer:

Soooo, we meet online.

Howdy Desert Pig, welcome to Mud and the sickness called Pig Ownership. :) I'm one of those guys in town that has been creeping by your shop lately drooling over your new pig. Looks like a great score. I'd be happy to swap info, pig stories, etc. I'll stop by some day and say hello.

Cheers, Carlos

PS- Have you been here yet.>>>oregoncruisers.com

most excellent Carlos, your pig/rig is definitely an inspiration, one of the finest I've seen, I would love to get a closer look. I did stumble across the oregoncruisers.com and singed up but was then unable to log on:bang:. I'll give it another try.

Hmmm, not sure why you weren't able to log back in. We're not THAT exclusive. :) I'll look into it and check to see if the web guru has switched something and made it more challenging to login/register, etc. Again, nice pig! We'll run into each other soon...

1979 FJ55

Hey all,

Had my '79 for 6 years or so. She's a daily driver. Just got back from the paint shop!!! Slowly putting it back together. It's been in boxes for about year.

1979 FJ55
Factory powersteering
no mods - all stocker

Got a new carpet kit to install along with some sound deading material for the doors and floor...new headliner...etc. Hopefully she will be back on the road before the snow comes!!

Very nice Pig FJ55 - what color did you paint? Is that the stock Pollux Orange?

Hopefully she is not on the road when the snow comes to AK!

yep

Thanks guys...

It is Pollux Orange. It has been several colors over the years. I found it up in Fairbanks from an Air Force fella who brought it up from California. It was a dark blue and I found light blue over spray from an earlier painting. When I took off one of the fender grills I saw a teal color. So I looked up the factory paint code and it was originally that darker green. But I could not find any green on the truck.

When I decided to invest in a new paint job they removed everything and finally, under the rear license plate lights, I saw it's original dark green. But I have always liked that orange so they sanded it down to bare metal, treated and repainted it.

So now I'm redoing the interior to match the outside...new headliner, new seats, new carpet...best door panels I can find.

I'll post another one when I'm done.
