How many in each of your parties? Tent camping or something else? What do you think the dining situation will be like (are you planning on camp cooking etc, or food court), think there will be porta facilities/water available (I ain't staying in no bonnaroo refugee camp shanty town).

We are definitely maybe.

It pretty much self contained/self reliant. See my post from last years to give you an idea of it. I will plan to do the same as I plan to be going to classes, activities, mall day.

Overland Expo East October 2 - 4, 2015

They will have food trucks and portapotty, showers. No vehicles over 21ft, so Escalades are out!

I'll be throwing a party with food Sat night in my booth or somewhere so you don't have to worry about food for at least one night.

It's at the Biltmore these is nothing ghetto about the place. I can assure you it will be top notch.

One thing to consider if you are employed by a larger corp/business is the use of perks like ticketsatwork.com, you may get preferred pricing on Biltmore ticks.

AAA has discount, but they make you buy then in check out .

you got your priorities right, in my opinion, school first. Knowledge is the one thing no one can take away from you, everything else could be fleeting. Then you get old like me and forget a lot.
Will take lots of pictures, they told me to expect a huge crowd, largest ever.

As far as food goes the Biltmore is 15-20 minutes from access to downtown Asheville has a ton of restaurants for everyones pallet I live in Black Mountain 20 mins outside of Asheville and will be volunteering at the Expo so if you have any questions about other places to eat or visit let me know.

Booked the budget weekend pass today. We'll be in the white EarthCruiser FX with the Dakar sticker on the doors.

Weekend pass registration opened today .

I see an abundance of lack-o-trees in the camping area, so leaving hammock at home. Hope it doesn't turn into a tent city, I really liked the previous place and how you could pick different camping areas....

If I correctly remember my drive by that spot, its a pretty big area. Hopefully big enough to avoid looking like the world's most expensively equipped refugee camp.

I think its going to have some advantages as far as the use of the LR experience trails and a better layout than Taylor Ranch I think the camping area is going to look like a shanty town like you guys are describing. They aren't going to sell the number of day passes they have in the past either to locals not many people are going to want to pay for the Biltmore entrance plus another fee to attend the expo. I'm sure the people who have Biltmore season passes will go but not alot of the others I think it will impact some of the weekend/camping pass sales to so maybe the camping grounds wont be so cramped.

I am one of those locals, sort of. Been to Biltmore, beautiful place. I am not sure I am willing to pay for a day pass just to get in to pay again to get in the Expo. Nothing I want to see so bad to pay over $100 for two just to get in.

Rather put that into vacation fund

Yeah I am local to I'm volunteering and they are paying for me to enter but I am going to have to pay $50 dollars plus a day pass for my wife to go. (She will only want to go one day thankfully)

They are not using the LR school trails, I did check that out with an inside source. I may go there in August for the LR Owners day trail ride and ask the guys again.
