Don't laugh Stan, I may need rescuing if I stick it out. I finally ended up on the first hill following the road entering the Off-road course. Hey, the Land Rover school does have a great big tent that's empty all night, if my crap fails, I am hitting that thing.

It is muddy, no doubt, a couple of Chevys had a hard time driving on the trail going to campsite. But still an adventure. s***, think I heard a gator it there.

I did spend the day driving the trails in the Gorges state park area, and they are uber cool, going back again with more time to explore.

I'm signed up for the Oct 24 class. Though I may not have a vehicle to drive, they recommend a near-stock truck and mine is far from that.

Might try to borrow my little brother's Range Rover Sport. That's right, my parents bought my 16 year old brother a RRS. Let's see how capable these off-roading kings supposedly are.

Good morning from warm sunny Asheville! My heater is doing fine, must be 75 in the tent. Rain in the morning, should stop midday. But high winds Saturday night unless Joaquin gets pushed out.

Those are my pottys, I am foul of crap most of the time
 
You're in a good spot - should be high enough that you won't need an ark.
Damn, I wish I was out there, but we're already seeing some flooding in low-lying areas and it hasn't even really hit yet.
 
I just read over on EP that they have closed off parking at Taylor Ranch. They are trying to secure off site parking and run shuttles. They are apparently allowing people to forward their tickets to next year if they are already paid up. There are downed trees all over the area as well.
 
now you're making me sad I didn't go...... Now buying a "come stand around but you aren't allowed to do anything" day pass has a little excitement added to it
 
I just finished packing up, bailing out. Winds died down, but expected to pick up again with driving hard rain. It is just a messy mud bowl, otherwise seems fine from here. Don think classes are on.

Be safe driving back. I drove in to work today and saw 7 cars on the side of the road that spun out and hit something.
 
You put up a brave fight Izzy, be safe on the way home. News is full of downed trees and wires
 
We took the Prius V up to Black Mtn THU PM and saw the concert at Pisgah Brewing - Trampled by Turtles. Friday we got up and drove to Taylor's Ranch around 9 AM and in the rain, saw the mud and hill and lack of Prii and just kept going to Brevard LOL.

We spent the day in Brevard and came back and had Thai food in Black Mtn.

Got up this AM and went to Hickory and drank some beer at the Olde Hickory Station.

Got home this PM.

We will get the truck fixed up and hope for nicer weather at next year's Expo :)

Guys from 7P.io, they do international expeditions. This as the 4 point trapezoid experience and we got to run it, pretty cool.

The mud was deep. By Saturday morning, they asked people to not drive, I decided to leave, and found 2 stuck jeeps on the exit driveway. Couldn't help, only the event officials can do that, must be lawyers crap or something. I will be back next year, I missed my classes Saturday, which were the best.
