They are not using the LR school trails, I did check that out with an inside source. I may go there in August for the LR Owners day trail ride and ask the guys again.
That surprises me. Why wouldn't they?

Don't know why, can only guess they don't want to track that much mud on the silk covered roads. I specifically asked that question, since the trails are very cool. The trails are on the other side of the river, I expected the whole thing would be there, not on the exit of my summer home.

We will be arriving close to noon on the 6th of October. Is anyone interested in a trail run that afternoon? Or willing to recommend a trail or two? Not looking for anything crazy. Maybe something rated a 2.5 out of 5??? (Bringing the 80 in the signature...) We will be staying in Asheville.

It all depends on how far you want to drive from Asheville Hurricane Creek Rd is about a 40 minute drive but it has become graded so its more of a great view and and not much of a challenge anymore from what I understand probably a 1 or 2 out of 5. There is 2 trails in the Pisgah National Forest they are just a little over an hour from Asheville.

Registration starts at 2 I think, you may not have a lot of time.

jdayment, which are the trails in Pisgah? I don't know any, but always looking... Thanks!

Brown mtn is more of a thing for ATVs. The time I went there were a bunch zooming around and they seemed annoyed. It's the first place I went in my 80. I think I like the "obstacles" on Richland Rd better.

That being said, both are 30 mins from my place, so if anybody comes up give me a shout!

I have a buddy that has taken the Richland RD said that it cuts through private property any troubles with that?

If you stay on the road , no problems.

Booked the budget weekend pass today. We'll be in the white EarthCruiser FX with the Dakar sticker on the doors.

Adam and I were planning on hitting this up on bikes-when he finds out you're bringing the earth cruiser, he'll be ecstatic! :) Not sure if he emailed you yet but he visited a few weeks ago out in Bend.

Wanted to bring this back up to the top as it is a few weeks away, 2 weeks after LR. Anyone else confirmed going, let me know and we can connect. I am still planning on heading that way Wednesday to splore and camp, then Thursday afternoon check into the Expo with the ostrich leather Biltmore certified boots.

Still not sure what vehicle we'll be in, but we'll be there.

I'm going

We will not know until that weekend so at the gate price will be $140 per person. Can't say I want to see it that much. Never know.

The whole experience
