I have overheat problem. I have change: l radiator , water pump, engine gasget and new clutch , new fan . after all this work the meter was from 185 to 210. I was thinking of getting 5.3 instead of 1FZ which came from Japan. I wish the previous owner used V8 engine. any tips? Coz I really like this engine,,

It's without the thermostat. I did replace it but it get worse

clutch fan

We the fan cover do anything to cool the car?

Not having the fan shroud can make it run hotter at idle. You mentioned that it was running at 210, that doesn't sound too bad. When you say it is overheating, what do you mean exactly? Is it boiling over? Is it possible that the gauge doesn't read correctly?

The gauge is correct , but 210 is not normal. The normal reading should be at 175 or 140.

Modern v8s are supposed to operate between 185-210. Thats how they are set up from the factory. Especially gen III GM v8s. You DO need a fan shroud for in town traffic, however

Yes but I am using V6 Toyota 1FZ

You need a thermostat to cool properly so put one in. You also need some space around the engine in the engine compartment how about a picture also using a larger radiator usually fixes over heating

What condition is the motor in. Is it high mileage? It wouldnt bother me to run it at 185 to 210. Also where doyou live? Climate determines running twmp also. I live in AZ so I have cooling issues also during the summer. I used to own jeeps ans the inlines were notorious for running hot especially in the desert. Onething you could do is install a double fan and wire a switch that you have manually turn on when it gets hot

That does not matter. Thats normal operating temp period, especially if a car is not original or has some age on it.

My point was that swapping to a v8 isnot going to help.

Sure, you can manipulate a car to run at 160-170 with oversized cooling system and a super low thermostat, but this is not the ideal operating temperature for a car. I would not be concerned unless you were seeing 215 on the low owned

Most cars come with a factory 195 T stat for a reason. Many also do not even turn on the high speed fan until 205 degrees or if the a/c is on.

You have already explained that your cooling system has a weak spot if there is in fact not a good shroud. let me guess, you are seeing the higher end while at low speeds and in traffic? Do you have air conditioning?

Ok I'm in UAE during summer time it can get up to 120 F. In the front of the radiator ?
