OUCH

I made a rash and bad driving decision. I went back to said spot and I'm not really sure why I didn't go upside down. The damage is probably a bit more extreme since the birf and shaft weren't installed. (see previous posts)
On the plus side, the housings aren't hens teeth. I found two for $100 each. An 85 and an 84(not) 79-80 and a set of stock birfs/shafts. Turns out Trail Tough is sitting on a handful of axles is varied States of complete.
Im still waiting on this warranty axle to show. :(

I plan on adding a diff armor. (have one on the elocker housing that won't sell) I also plan on reworking the hydro mount so it mounts to the diff instead of the leafs. Think im going to do trunions while I'm there.

So I am pretty annoyed about fubaring my axle, but at the same time, I got 20 years out of it. Which is pretty good for a pussy Yota housing. ;)

The other plus is my lady said I should get Diamonds in the future, so......

In the mean time.

Tt dude this morning. Axle and knuckle kit should ship today. Hopefully I can reassemble this weekend. My loaner rig is harshing my gig.

Turns out it was -4 camber. Rig currently in gayrage. Had to put the skinnys on to fit it. Skinny don't fit the front because of big brakes.

VATOS LOCOS FOR-AVER!!!

Axle disassembled and on the floor in about 2.5 hours.
Stupid steering arms are time killers.

So, in a not so surprising twist of fate, both housings are bent. Im back to square one. I get a eat a pair of inner seals. Tonight's five hours, a complete ****ing waste.

After being out of the truck for a month now and getting used part ****ery, I've decided to bite the proverbial bullet and buy a Diamond.
Think I'm going to go +8" width, still Toyota based. Staying with the 8" chunk, considering E-locker, new knuckle balls, gussets.....
This will give me a 66" WMS, which I believe is T-100/Tundra width. May do rear too since my rear housing was already a little off, I'm sure the "incident" didn't help matters.

Sounds like a solid plan ahead. You'll really like the E-Locker also, prices of used ones have come down quite a bit in the past years.

Didn't you just warranty your 'stock' mini RCV's? Will RCV count them towards buying new ones for the Diamond?

Yes I did just get warranty on the one. At this point I think I will keep the stock inners for the 85 and just buy rcv birfs at that time. Also considering buying new FROR keyed steering arms and using the old All Pro hysteer on the 85. My friend Charlie has a 4.30 E-locker with ecu, button and wires so looks like that ball is in motion too. ;)

Only another 6-8 weeks of puta negro-mobile. :flipoff2:

Sounds like it is all meant to be. Good thing you bought the 85! Nice reason to buy shiny parts for the Rnr and pass the rest down to the kid.

Now just make sure your all ready to go for some snow wheeling this winter! :flipoff2:

Okay so after what was kind of ridiculous amount of time i finally was able to place my order with Diamond. I have also re-collected T100 rear shafts and IFS brakes.
Looking like probably mid January or February.
