Question about $or door parts. I am replacing the chrome trim pieces on the door with the $or black felt pieces. Basically where the window rides when rolled up and down. Has anyone done this , and if so how did you do the install. Thanks
Scott

i used sor door felts, they kinda squeeze/snap into place within the groove of the window frame. I have been using them for about a year and am very happy with them. my windows dont rattle anymore over washboard roads, but they are stiff with friction when they are rolled up or down. I reccommend the product.

What kind of tool did you use. And does it look ok vs. the chrome?

post a pic Scott, the wiper style is specific to the door. Later doors have a long hole and early have a hole. Yes you should go the later year style the is rubber the the window rides in as the early SUCKS

they snap in - no special tool

it helps to have the door apart but is not always required - your specific conditions may vary

webelk6 and mcwinery,
Most parts for early doors are available from Toyota make a list of parts needed and call your local TOYOTA Parts man or cruiserdan @ American Toyota

You may have to source the parts from different vendors to get everything and the best price  you need, the fowling vendors will help you out with NOS or reproduction parts Good Luck

so the answer is. It was only $$$$ for everything. Let me know what it cost and for what. I need everything for doors and gaskets for glass all around.

I believe it was under $200 for both felts, w/s for all 4 doors, 4 chrome felts, and 4 rubber channels(go inside door, one on each side) I really like the black window felts. Glass is REALLY tight.
