I thought this needed to be seen. Thoughts?

actually tell me about the 914-6
Pretty cool vehicle, Don. Quick (handling) but not particularly fast. Just a mid-engine two liter 6-cylinder with two triple-throat Webers. One of only 3300 put together over three years (1970-1972) by Porsche with their running gear instead of the VW-based 4 cylinder ones. Only made for three years. Didn’t sell when new because they were priced within $500 of the lowest priced “real” Porsche 911.
Bought it new 53 years ago. Paid $6k. Similar one not quite as nice just did $96k on BAT. 99% OEM with original stuff retained when suspension and carb mods were done. Have all paperwork since new. Prepping it for intended sale but after driving it 400+ miles. I’m having second thoughts. Nothing like that high pitched whine about 12” behind your ear when putting it through the paces. Will finish the minor fluffing and folding and then decide.

That is a cool looking car! To be honest, I didn't like the look of the 914 when they came out, but I didn't like the FJ55 either back then. I know you never went over the speed limit, but I bet it could do it. :)

Didn’t know Porsches from diddly when we bought our first 4-cyl 914 when they were introduced. Wanted a sports car, liked the idea of mid engine and removable hard top and it was the only one with legroom that required me to move the seat up a notch.
Sometime in the ‘80s 22 of us were scooting along at 100+ on the two lane between Taos and Ft. Garland heading home from a PCA event in Santa Fe. Best driver in the bunch? The guy in the lowrider Impala who’d hooked up with us as we left Taos!

That sounds about like New Mexico!
