gonna meet dohcdelsol at 9am in piedmont and make it down from there. Probably be there around 10ish!

we tried to meet up but the rangers would not let us in. Everything was full according to them. So we went to falls creek landing and let the kiddos play and took the boats out to the jumping off rock. Later we went to little eastatoe and camped on my parents land on the river. Hate we could not meet up with u guys but still had a good weekend overall.

Well I have a few pics I took from the weekend. Josie and I had a really good time. We got there around lunch Sat morning. The ranger said the parking lot was full and that we would have to leave. That was until I told her I had a camping spot. Then they let us in. Put the boat in and parked the cruiser. We headed out across the lake. A few minutes later we found the rest of the gang. Josie got to play with at least 3 other girls her age which was great. I got to finally relax and crack open a beer. About 30 min later I decided to turn on my phone and lo and behold Jay called me. Said they had been trying to find us. So I raced back across the lake and picked him up. Got back and everyone had moved down to a waterfall close by. Got there and we hung out for a couple hrs. Enjoying the cold water. We then headed over to white water river and enjoyed another dip in some cold water. By this time it was getting lake and we all headed back to go eat.

That night we had more Mexican food than we could possibly eat. It was all really good stuff. Kids played really hard. I think all the adults were beat from being on the lake all day. I don't believe there was anyone that stayed up late. Josie and I headed off to bed. The A/C unit I had fixed the night before worked great. Kept the cruiser down around 70 the whole night. Woke up the next morning said my goodbys and we headed home.

Just wanted to thank ONSC for inviting us. We had a great time hanging out with them. Certainly cannot wait to do it again.

Had a really fun time despite the heat wave (note bring more fans). The day on the lake was epic fun. The ONSC guys rented a 16ft pontoon and we met Marshall in his boat out on one of the islands at the north end of Jocassee. We stopped at 3-4 different coves/falls and swam and climbed on the rocks. The dogs had just as much fun I think. Thanks to Brian, Heather, Al and Andrea for planning this trip and taking care of the boat logistics and spearheading the potluck Saturday night. Looks like a great new tradition for the ONSC crew.

Had a great time, drive there was a little slow because of some slow ass drivers on hwy 11 that took forever to get around. (slow drivers should be shot :grinpimp:) Got there at 940 on friday night, had fun in the boat on saturday, fun hiking up a waterfall, not so much fun slipping and falling down part of the waterfall. :grinpimp:

Thanks to all that came in making this a memorable occasion.

did you get behind gabe on hwy 11 :)

really wish we could have met up with you guys on sat. Couldn't get parking at devils fork. Couldn't get reception either.

Yeah for the size of the lake their parking lot was tiny for trailer parking. Kinda nice when out on the water as you feel like the you have the whole lake to yourself but really the parking lot size should double.

I'm actually cool with the parking lot size. I usually go early and have never had an issue parking. That being said I've never gone without a boat. as Al said it keeps a lot of boats off the lake.

When you go to Jocassee you have to go prepared and go early. This weekend was probably the busiest weekend of the year considering how hot it was. I was just glad I wasn't on hartwell. That place would have been a madhouse.

The wife and I had a GREAT time, much thanks to Marshall for ferrying us around and humoring our dogs first boat ride. Thanks for the tour service showing us all the great sights of Jocassee. Thanks to the ONSC folks for the invite, and the use of their float back at the waterfall. I hope we can do this again soon! I hate that we left before the feast, but the wife has some inner ear issues that the rocking motion of the lake doesn't help, any ways I hope we can all do stuff together again soon!!

i go out on hartwell near oconee point. Never very busy there, it's a huge lake, you can usually escape the crowds.

Other than memorial day weekend and 4th of july it's usually not bad.

And you can always find a boat ramp with parking!
