Please have working fire extinguishers for all your rigs. URE has been open 2 weeks now and i can confirm 2 trucks have burnt to the ground and i think another did also this weekend, but have not confirmed it yet.

They had it off by 9 pm last night . Had to bring in some of the cool guy toys to get it off the mountain but it is gone for the most part. Daniel was open for business the whole time. They used 6 fire extinguishers but it was too much for them. They just let it burn and not hurt the surrounding areas. It will not hurt us OHV guys as it was the military and **** happens all the time like this. Trust me on that. No harm no foul.

Why? They don't seem to do anything. :hillbilly:

Darin, are you talking trucks other than the crispy humvee that we saw or including that humvee?

The other is an Izuzu I have heard something about but have not been able to confirm or deny.

I know this question belongs elsewhere on MUD but I would rather annoy you guys with my ignorance than the general MUD population.

Is it possible to change the length of time I am signed in on MUD? It seems like MUD logs me off after 5 minutes whether I'm idle or not. I have checked my personal settings and I don't see log in time as an options.

Please put at least one good fire extinguisher in your trucks folks. You just never know.

A charged fire extinguisher is on the inspection list for onsc safety inspection. We'll be checking for them at logan's run!

That is great, but I am also talking in all of our vehicles really. And more than one is actually better if you have the room and can afford it.

Oh Hell yeeeeah! Calling @NCFJ

Is there a way to have internet service at the house without TWC or AT&T? They are the two worst companies I have ever dealt with. Currently with TWC. My grudge holding ability is legendary and is about to come to a head. I don't want to rely solely on what I get on my phone/ipad (3G, LTE, whatever...).

Verizon hot spot for like 25 a month or maybe google fiber depending on location.

Google fiber is coming to RDU, not sure about Charlotte.

Twc and at&t, then maybe comcast, are the only providers I'm aware of.

Google Fiber is coming. No ETA.

The Verizon hotspot doesn't meet my criteria of no 3g, 4g, LTE, or the like.
Living in York County, SC I have no choice but Comporium. We ditched cable years ago to cut costs but I have no complaints regarding their internet and home phone service. I know they serve parts of Mecklenburg County so it would be worth a call.

John,

Comporium is only in a couple of newish developments. Basically, they worked out deals with the developers up front to allow them exclusive rights to serve the neighborhoods. They're not going to serve you. I wouldn't waste my time there. You might try someone like EarthLink or Centurylink. They are basically re-sellers. They lease lines from AT&T at a discounted rate, mark them up and sell them to you. Their prices may be better than AT&T, not sure. Have you looked into the AT&T Uverse offering? I'm sure you have your reasons for not wanting to do business with AT&T but Uverse does have some pretty cool features. I wish I could get it in Matthews, but my options are Windstream or TWC...and they both suck.

Some people around here have northstate communications - fiber all the way to your house, rather than to the switch, a true 80 MB connection and my buddy pays around $50 as an introductory rate.

Not really news to anyone but this is especially true AT HOME. Whatever size extinguisher you think you need, double it, and then buy 2 of them.

Quote from article:
"During an attempt to start, the engine backfired through the intake, blowing the intake off of the runners, and setting the fuel hoses on fire. By the time I had caught my dog, who had been sleeping in the garage, the entire engine bay was ablaze. By the time I had dialed 911, the garage door was on fire. The garage burned down, taking my 84 GTI, and my brother’s Audi 200 TQ Avant and Alfa 164Q with it."
