Partsouq.com issue
About a month ago I drove my lexus for the first time in a while. Went to fill up gas and noticed fuel coming out from under the car. Shut off the pump and went to tell the attendant. After that was done and I assessed it was safe to drive I took it home and jacked it up. Found that there was a gash in the hose that connected the filler neck to the gas tank. No clue how that happened, something must have kicked up in there at a perfect angle to do that.
So I order the part from partsouq.com from their diagram for a lexus LS430. Part comes in the mail, I tear apart the DR of the car to get the old one out..... looks nothing like the new one. Also I can fit the end of the old hose inside the new one... not going to make a good seal even if it was the right shape. I also noted that the part number on the part they sent me is different than the toyota label on the bag it was in, and both of them are different from part number on the original damaged part.
I email them and get a reply right away with them wanting to know what is wrong with the part. I explain it to them and send them all the pictures.
They tell me to to worry about the part numbers on the actual parts those are just "toyota internal part numbers" and the part is correct.
I send them the pictures to show how wrong the parts are and they say to not worry about the shape the hose will bend to fit.
I tell them that even if that worked the opening is too big and won't work to seal the fuel system.
Their response is to clamp it down tighter

Before I email back I look up the part number of the bag and the part in the bag. The bag part number correspond to a 98+ camry and the part number on the actual part they sent me is for a 91-96 camry. I tell them that not only did they send me the part for the wrong car that they sent the wrong part for the wrong car.
They reiterate that the "toyota internal" part number on the part is not what the part number is blah blah blah. I say well that doesn't matter I needed this part for a 01 lexus.
You didn't order a part for a lexus you ordered a part for a camry.
I check my order bill and sure enough the part number on it is the part number on the bag.
So I tell them there is something wrong with their website because I followed the links to that part by clicking on my car so it is still their fault, I would have had to willingly look up a camry for it to be my fault and I may be getting older but I can still remember my own car.
Still its my fault so then I say that ok, lets say I needed this part for the 99 camry you still sent me one for a 91 so I would like my money back.
Back to the internal part number.....
I forward them an email I got from the local parts department at toyota telling me the parts are not interchangeable.
They say that they are mistaken but they will let me return the part to them for a %15 restocking fee......... oh and I also need to cover the cost of shipping it back to Dubai...
I already paid to have it shipped to me, part with shipping cost me $35, Shipping it back to Dubai would cost me another $40
So needless to say I won't be sending them the part or ordering parts from them for a while... .I got the correct part from lexuspartsdirect.com for only about $2 more than partsouq
I'm out $35 and its more of a principle kind of thing but also wouldn't want this to happen to me with some kind of expensive heavy part that i'd be stuck with.
Oh and if anyone has a 91 camry and needs this part let me know you can have it
Oh and they did correct their parts diagram for the LS, I went on there and they do have the correct part there now.
