is his shop in a neighbor hood?
Thanks for that! It's a 140hp motor. Am I understanding correctly that 1zz is an all Toyota motor? I'm imagining it's just the heads that are Yamaha in the 180hp version? From Wikipedia:
"The Celica came in two different models. The ZZT230 was powered by a relatively economical 1.8 L 4-cylinder 140 hp (104 kW) 1ZZ-FE engine and the ZZT231 powered by a higher-performance 1.8 L 4-cylinder 192 hp (143 kW) (in Europe and Japan) 2ZZ-GE version, co-developed with Yamaha, the latter featuring a two-step variable valve lift control in conjunction with its variable valve timing."

I did a bunch of research on the 7th Gen Celica as a DD a few months back. The GT had the 1ZZ and the GT-S has the 2ZZ.
I am not quickly finding it, but the 2000 2001 had some issues, but not sure if major or not. Something to look into. I will look more tomorrow.
Two of the techs at ACC drive those. One is turbo'd. I haven't taken a recent pic, but here's one with the engine/trans out so the transmission could be serviced. He powdered all the metal bits peacock blue and finished with a matte black plasti-dip over the black paint. He rebadged it with JDM "Soarer" emblems too. I'll see if I can get a shot this weekend.
