Too funny! Great story.
I was in Philadelphia working with a couple guys and we stopped in this local corner bar for some dinner before going home. These bars are generally a corner house in a line of row homes with the first floor converted to a bar. The owners generally live upstairs and there is a basement for storage. 20-24' wide, bar down one side, small tables. Filled with all the locals on their way home too.
My buddy goes over and looks for a second, drops a quarter in the Juke Box. Like when Norm walks in the bar on Cheers the whole place yells NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Too late. Seems a scratched version of Ghost Riders In The Sky is the only record that plays, no matter what numbers you punch in. They keep it plugged in for the lights. Someone unplugged it about two stanzas in.
