I did that first; and spent hours last time i looked too .... but no luck yet, thanks for confirmation of suspicions. Was starting to question if it was CLT mtg thread or not.

EDIT: well its not in 10 pages or last 8 yrs of post containing Charlotte. there are none with CLT. Dave might be right below; may not have been a charlotte deal

elkaholic is guilty of the quote.... but referencing his 70 to a 4runner :/

Jason, if I am correctly remembering the pic you're talking about I believe it was a meeting in RDU. The lineup was at night time so I suspect it was during the winter season.

Haha this getting old does suck....
I remembered daylight and gravel....er thought i did

But green hell mustang did come to mind at first.

Thanks

Someone at work saw me driving my 40 to work last week and inquired "If I'm selling it". I immediately responded no, only to find out that their relatives are about to buy a Barrett Jackson 40 at an auction next month, but wanted to know about mine....

Damn... Makes me wonder how much I could have sold it for.... But then I remember that you NEVER hear someone saying how glad they were to sell a Land Cruiser... Jeep? sure.

Wouldn't have mattered:

"Small block or LS power"
"Automatic"
"REALLY nice"

If anyone has something that fits the bill and wants to make Barrett Jackson type money, let me know.

It can be built.......

I need someone to diagnose a non functioning generator. Selling the RV and someone that's buying it wants to know what's involved in fixing the generator. Starts right up, but won't power the unit.

Any recommendations appreciated. RV is in Greensboro off I40/Wendover.

Most likely culprit is the automatic transfer switch that switches between shore power and the genset. I am making the assumption you have cycled the breaker(s) on the generator itself ....

Question...bc of all the ARB bumpers in that pic. Is Stock suspension sufficient enough if I put an ARB-type bumper up front?
Probably. But you'll want to lift it at some point. Why fight it?

Ehh, somewhere I have the before and after pics of my 2.5" install, but naturally I can't remember :( where they are. Here is one of my 80 before a lift and with 33's. For reference this is the first truck in Jonathan's picture.

To answer your question, stock suspension is plenty sufficient. With any amount of lift you're simply addressing what your goals are ..... street and mild trail? Medium trail? OMG trail?

To compensate for the small amount of sag a front bumper causes a spring spacer will bring it back into level.

Budget always comes to mind ;)

Youd likely be fine but very well may notice some driving character change. More noticeable as well as predictable sag (stinkbug) when you add a winch. Cheap band aid would be mr gasket or other 25mm spring spacers.

Rice, are there any issues to running 33's with a stock suspension for a while? Will eventually lift but new tires are needed first!

Youll be way fine. Only issue would be a small hit to accell and braking

Ive run 285/75's (33's) on stock lexus lx450 springs for at least 10 years, which are even softer and cushier than the LC springs. The years of heavier unsprung weight have caused settling, and I have mr gasket spacers up front, and air lift airbags in the rear. I have a stock bumper, but dual batteries. I had an OME Stock height kit, but ended up putting those in my other 80 series.

Unless you have the need for the additional ground clearance of a 2.5 inch OME lift (and all the extra stuff associated...caster correction bushings, sway bar blocks, etc), the stock height OME kit is the way to go. You can use OEM (Tokico) shocks and save a couple bucks, and have plenty of room to clear 33's. You can gain anywhere from .75 to 1.5 inches of lift, depending on how worn/saggy your stock springs are with the stock height kit.

Thanks.....I'm guessing sag comes more from age vs. miles....my '94 80 only has 92k on it!
