On that note, I have got to post Bon Appétit's channel. Their channel has some great culinary related content. The "It's alive with brad" series is phenomenal and funny.

It is so good to see Brad is doing something great after his time on Law and Order SVU!!

Teardown of a 1000HP Toyota 2AR motor. It's surprising how many stock Toyota parts they use. I think they usually put this motor in the base model Camry.

This is pretty cool. This would be inverted vs a boxter bmw or vw engine, that have a common crank, but opposing heads, right?

Inverted vs a boxer engine, yes, but a boxer engine doesn't have opposing heads, just a flat cylinder configuration.

EDIT: BOXER ENGINE, NOT PORSCHE BOXTER ENGINE.

i'm confused as to what exactly you are saying.

you're saying a boxer engine doesn't have opposing heads??

Edit: I think our definition of opposing just must be different here which is causing my confusion.

Carry on

Boxter or a VW or a Triumph triple has heads on each end that make it complex. This diesel is super simple and awesome as it doesn't have heads - amazing.

Understand that.

I should have quoted Johnny. He said a boxster engine doesn't have opposing heads.

I'm guessing you both mean boxer engine not just referencing a porsche boxster engine (admittedly I don't know much about boxsters)

A boxer engine has opposed pistons (not opposed like the diesel posted) so to me that would mean opposed heads for the two banks.

So pedantic. In context, opposing pistons in the diesel engine above meant that they face each other. Heads on a boxer engine don't face each other, so I wouldn't call them "opposing heads". Yes, boxer engines are also "horizontally-opposed cylinder engines", but that diesel above is not a "boxer".
