Car beeps at me when I attempt to open any door but the drivers

Unlock button on fob only unlocks d over side

Interior unlock button will not unlock any other door

After exiting a manually unlocked rear passenger door, the vehicle will beep and lock its doors on its own

Changing Settings in the vehicle portion of the in dash settings (vehicle settings, vehicle customization, door lock settings, select doors to unlock: all, driver door linked unlock:all) seems to allow me to at least unlock the doors using the button on the driver door…

Any assistance is appreciated

You where pretty close.
Was not motivated to search it in english.

So first turn of the motor switch

deactivate any kind of alarm system if you have one

hold the lock button on you keyfob and then press the unlock button for at least 5s while keep the lock button pressed.

3x beeping means only the drivers door open on touch
2x beeping means all doors unlock if you touch the door handle

Probably worth a try and should work on all pre facelift LCs and LXs

Thank you.

That appears to have worked somewhat.

Now the car will only unlock the drivers door if I “try” to put my hand in a passenger door and unlock it.

Putting hand in any passenger door while I have the key fob will make the Lexus beep repeatedly.

If I press the button on the fob to manually unlock the doors, even tapping it twice, the Lexus will beep at me repeatedly and ONLY unlock the drivers door.

pressing lock and then holding unlock for 5 seconds after the above makes the Lexus beep at me 2 times in succession several times.

Attempting to open a passenger door with the fob then causes the Lexus to beep at me repeatedly.

Driver door still opens readily even while locked if I have fob

Interior door button at drivers door will not unlock doors in vehicle.

Is anyone aware of where I might look for a relay or fuse that is related to unlocking all doors?

…because fob, door sensor, or door button will only intermittently unlock all doors (like 1 in 30 attempts).

I'm wondering if the button in the rear lift gate may have failed and might be shorted.

It has become intermittent. The car seems to “notice” when it’s incapable of unlocking the doors…it beeps in protest when I attempt to unlock, it tries, and it fails.

It’s been pretty rainy lately…maybe a moisture in a relay type issue. When I get some time I’ll track down the relay and see if there’s some corrosion or something.

Definitely looking like a moisture related issue…seems to beep at me 10 times in the morning when I try to unlock the doors…but in the evenings (when it’s cooked in the sun all day), it seems to unlock all doors readily.

All doors still seem to lock appropriately.

It takes five seconds (per side) to pull the front door sill trim and look for water. Just pull upward from the seat side of the trim in the middle.. once it’s loose the rear will still be attached. I “peel” it out of the clip by rotating the whole end toward the inside of the vehicle. Then pull straight up and back and it’ll come out.. not much risk of breaking tabs.

Look for water around the harness connectors.

When you put it back make sure you flip the weather seal out from the trim laying on top of it.. should fit into a groove in the seal.

Problem is intermittent…only drivers door unlocks in morning or after rain….everything works fine in the dry hot afternoon.

Similar issue someone else had:

The “switch” module pops out of the door really easy-like 4-5 clips…I used one of those little stereo removal blades (very thin) to get under and pop the plastic up.

The pins on the buttons connector look pristine and there doesn’t appear to be any evidence of moisture in the door panel.

The unlock feature continues to work when it’s hot/dry in the afternoon….but in the morning, only the drivers door will lock or unlock w the button, proximity sensors, or fob.

There appears to be a larger module that the cable leading from this button module leads to in the door. I’m starting to think maybe that module is the culprit, since it’s not just the “button on the doors” that causes issues…the fob, proximity unlock (for all handles), button on the door, button on the front passenger door all don’t work if it’s cool/wet/humid.

Thank you for this advice. I popped that panel off, looked in that area and everything looked dry.

passenger side “master” lock button works to lock all doors.

Passenger side “master” lock button works to unlock driver’s door only.

Same thing with fob and door handles.

This only seems to happen in the morning. In the afternoon all lock functions work.

does anyone know if there’s a central module where all unlock functions converge before being disbursed to various doors? Like a master door lock module?

If so I think that’s where I likely have a connection issue.

According to the manual, the main body ecu receives switch controls from the multiplex network master switch, and driver side door key cylinder switches from the front door lock LH. the main body ecu activates the door lock motor on each door according to these signals.

Manual seems to indicate that all switches lead to main body ecu (cowl side junction box lh)

Supposedly the terminals of the ecu that may be of utility (found in the power door lock control system portion of the manual):

2D-2 (ACT-) -body ground
(front passenger unlock drive)

2C-23 (ACT-) - body ground
(Rear door lh lock motor unlock drive output)

2D-2 (ACT-) - Body ground
(Rear door rh lock motor unlock drive output)

I think it may be possible to use the techstream to test the door unlock function outside of the fob, proximity, or door buttons.

Would anyone happen to know whether one of these are a “main body ecu?” I cannot seem to find the exact part by that name via google

IMG_3447.png

It’s looking like the main body ecu may also be called “cowl side junction box lh” and have a part number 8273360374 and cost around $800.

This section of the vehicle and type of part seems to have caused similar issues for 100 series:

“whenever I hear of strange electrical gremlins. I look for water entry signs, from poor windshield install. Water can run down "A" pillar into electronic, causing all kinds of issues. Typically when they dry, issues goes away. But if not corrected, than often over time, water damage become longer lasting or permanent.”

I’ve also seen mentioned that others have merely had a relay within this area go bad…or partially bad.

Considering the Lx570 seems to have two separate “stages” of door unlocking, it may be the case that the “driver door” stage of the unlock function is intact…but the secondary circuit that unlocks ALL doors seems to have some issue that arises in the cool moist mornings and often goes away in the warm dry afternoons.

I think I need to find some sort of instructions for how to access this “main body ecu”/cowl side junction box lh/box filled with relays.

I expect it’s tucked behind the dash perhaps above the miniature fuse box that is near the driver’s left foot under the dash

So all actuators still lock. But only the driver door will unlock.

I think the main body ecu, which I think receives the signal to unlock and then dispersed it to each door is here behind this panel. This is directly to the left of the left most driver side air conditioning vent.

Interested to see what you end up with.
I’ve been into the dash in that area for the coin box modifications.

I have one rear window that won’t roll down from the master, only the local, but no door lock issues yet.

Would you happen to have similar codes from your techstream?
