Hello,

I have following suspension:
J-Series Replacement Suspension 3.5"-4" Lift - $980.00
(Retail Price - $1165)
Part# OME80J
1 - OME 2850J Front Coil Springs (Pair)
2 - 60070L Front Nitrocharger Sport Shocks (Extended Length)
1 - OME 2863J Rear Coil Springs (Pair)
2 - 60071L Rear Nitrocharger Sport Shocks (Extended Length)
1 - SLEE SOF1048 Caster Correction Plate Kit
1 - OME SD24 Steering Damper

as I will have the Cruiser only for road trips on gravel and dirt roads without real hard core rock wheeling I don't really need such high lift with 35 tires. I will also downsize the tires to 33's. I am looking into following suspension kit from cruiser outfitters:
Heavy Load Replacement Suspension 2"-2.5" Lift -$980.00
(Retail Price - $1165)
For increased front and rear weight: bullbar, tire carriers, winches, trailers.
Part# OME80H
1 - OME 2850 Front Coil Springs (Pair)
2 - 60018 Front Nitrocharger Sport Shocks
1 - OME 2863/2864 Rear Coil Springs (Pair) (864 for Constant load, 880lbs to GVW)
2 - 60020 Rear Nitrocharger Sport Shocks
1 - OME CA77B Caster Correction Kit
1 - OME SD24 Steering Damper

We are family of four, front bumper, dual batteries, rear bumper with tire and three jerry can's, arb drawers with fridge and kitchen box, roof rack and RTT. So generally there will be a lot of load on the car.

My question is - shall I keep the correction plate or shall I switch to correction bushings ? Cruiser outfitters suggest bushings , local mudders suggest plates.

My OME yellow CC bushings did not correct enough for my 850 equivalent set up.
Another option is Man a Fre Control arm brackets. I have the 2" drops.

You might want to try a trade down your lift rather than repurchase & sell???

I have the 850/863 lift and I find the yellow bushings inadequate. But I also don't carry any weight in the rear, so my castor measurement may be exacerbated by stinkbug.

My plan is to swap in some 860's and take measurements. If still not good, then I'm going to plates. BTW, if anyone wants to trade my 863's for your 860's, send me a PM. /threadjack

my wife just borrowed the lexus when i was doing a brake job on her car... she says "it steers funny when you go over uneven pavement"

i think i may need to finally correct my caster, i got 850 springs in the front and also more or less unloaded in the rear with super heavies (want to get a 4x4 labs with swingout when funds are available)

i definitely want to swap my super heavies for mediums but do you think the bushings would be inadequate for me? i've heard of vibrations with too much caster correction, although it looks like that's not a problem with the slee brackets...

I'm running 2.5" heavies front/rear with plates, all is well. ARB/8274 w/synthetic line up front, 4x4labs dual swing out and drawers in the rear.

All rigs are different and behaves different. Some will be ok without the plate and some don't.

I have J's all around with a 1" spacer up front and it sits nicely. I only have the OME yellow bushings and it behaves well, on and off road. I have the stock drive shaft and no vibrations at all. I'm hoping it stays that way. It's been a year now and I've put almost 10k since.

Yeah, my alignment specs is only 1.95 on left and 1.90 on right. Closest I can get to specs (2-4 degrees). I'm happy with it. No bad manners, tracks straight, just had them rotated after 7k miles and they're fine.

I'd say keep the J's for the weight that you are carrying.

That's just me though...

My rigged is equipped with:

2 - 60070L Front Nitrocharger Sport Shocks (Extended Length)
1 - OME 2863 Rear Coil Springs (Pair)
2 - 60071L Rear Nitrocharger Sport Shocks (Extended Length)
1 - OME SD24 Steering Damper
2- Front and rear sway bar drop kit (pair)
2-Front and rear 2" bump stop extended (pair)
4-Extended brake lines

*285/75R16 BFG Ko2 plus Fifth spare wheel with tucked in Modd

*Stock front and rear bumper. The ride is a bit bumpy but handles great

Question: Because i am running the "type L shock for rears" would that damage shocks due to me not running the J rear coils? Thanks!!

"Front and rear 2" bump stop extended (pair)"
If you have the rear 2" bump stops installed they will protect the rear shock from over compression.
You can go down to 1.25" & still be safe.
