Hello all,
In the process of deciding what color to paint my 40. I want a simple paint system, easy to touch up as this truck will be in the bush most of the time getting road rash and scraps. The finishing process will likely be sandblasted panels with couple coats of epoxy primer and sanding, then either restoleum or Krylon rattle can either Flat or Semi-Gloss. That will hide the scratches better and I like the look of a flat 40. I am leaning towards a dark grey with flat black trim and wheel rims but open to suggestions. Lots of pics welcome...

Hi All,

My FJ40 was a faded blue color when I got it. When I did the rear 2/3rds tub swap the closest shade of blue rattle can paint I could find is GM engine blue (which is slightly darker.)

The rig is a trail basher, so it probably needs more than 30 feet to look decent! ;-)

Regards,

Alan
