Ok engine builders for 2F FJ40... Oil slinger question (1 Viewer)

I am having some questions about putting the oil slinger back on my engine. I didnt tear it down but am now putting the puzzle back together after the engine shop tore it down for me..... I understand the oil slinger goes on the crankshaft after the crank gear is put on but which way does the cup face.....? forward or toward the rear of the engine...... my guess would be forward because it would sling oil all over the timing gears but I wanna be sure. Thanks in advance for any help.
