i was really suprised by how well the FJC did. it was all stock except for the skid plate and arb. which took clearance from it.

Wow, is that a tip over or just reallllly close?

Just laid it on it's side in slow motion, landed on sliders and dinged up the front fender.

First a ledge before Rock Chucker Hill, then fast-forward to Mirror Gulch.

Sorry, no pics from Rock Chucker (Michael and myself were looking over the front end of my 40 after a single loud 'clang' sound; no further untoward noises thereafter, everything appeared to work fine). Kudos to the two 80s (Eric and ?? - I'm bad with names, sorry) for making a difficult obstacle real easy

...a last one from the exit from Mirror Gulch. No pics from the climb up to the top due to being busy, but a nice group picture at the lunch spot overlooking the Bar M Ranch up high on Arth's Rim

Claudia, why does my neck hurt after looking at YOUR pics?;p

Every once in a while you take a straight shot, just to throw us off, don't you?:flipoff2:

Considering the dearth of coverage on the event this time around, I can honestly say that I don't know what us web wheelers would do without you!

Except keep waiting for the rest of the slackers to post!

THANKS

:)

the last three from Widowmaker: the first one just to show how much the obstacle has grown from the time it was photographed for the trails book by Charles Wells, we had our two heroes from Rock Chucker Hill give it a valid effort, but to no avail - silt doesn't make for good traction when you try to climb a ~8 foot ledge.

We had a litle action on Mother-in-Law Hill, and then some of us took the bypass to the easy route ;p: instead of coming out on Gemini Bridges road, we spent another few miles in low range, dropping in and climbing out of canyons until we emerged at the oil well on Hwy 313 (even the old Barnes Map doesn't show a named trail there; I think it will have the Hatfield name written on it ;))

Thanks to Chris for leading the trail, and to Eric for gunning; to Todd and Eric for spotting and for the rocks under Michael's tires.

Thanks to everyone for putting on this great event, we had a marvelous time - Life is indeed better in low range. If you didn't see your truck in these pictures, we have quite a few more, just send a PM. And apologies to everyone whose names I forgot  multiple times  Until next year, keep the rubber side down, Claudia and Michael

i'll make this brief. just a few pics. i just got home from CM and I have far less fewer pics than normal. When one of your passengers is sporting a Canon 20d there isn't any real reason to take your own. i'll come up with a trip report tomorrow.

ran through the San Rafael Swell weds on the way down. Talked to a lady in a small town, friend of the owner of the two 40s. Says they've just been sitting for the last 20years. Thinks the mileage is accurate. both under 1k.::eek: :D

damn. i guess my silver star ran out while i was in Moab. i'll post pics tomorrow.

Hey Simon, that's great. I was hoping you were going to make it. Have fun guys.

I'll stay up here in Canada and guard the border.

wouldn't have missed it but i had to hurry back home so only got two days in. these are a bit stale now but here are some from fins and things on thursday. first up is christo's new ute taking a somewhat ambitious approach. then we have a nice 40 from wisconsin and a 62 from oklahoma i think. then buddy from arb trying to prove that 4runners do not need lockers (something i would have though arb would not encourage him to do). btw, thanks for the ice cream buddy,

also from fins here are two shots of a privately owned fj on the same obstacle as buddy above. she took on everything on the trail which was pretty gutsy on her own brand new vehicle.
