@weejub If only those were powerful!
Not to clog up the FOR SALE thread, but just how much power do you expect to need in a 40? And, no, I have no clue what that Merc puts out, I'm just hoping you don't fall into the $$$$$ power hole.

@jfz80 I would love to drive the 40 before I graduate and I plan to, but its a matter of how I get there. Our 1F is toast, and its not really worth putting the money into. I would be happy with a mild 350 in the 40 but the extra torque from a 4BT would be awesome.
@GLTHFJ60 I had not even considered the noise factor, that will be something I will talk to my dad about since he'll be driving it more once i'm off at college. After doing more research the Ranger seems like the simpler path, one question though, will a ranger bolt straight up to a 4BT bellhousing?
@Rice What T-Case do you have behind your NV4500?

Stock.

Suggest moving build discussion to its own thread so as not to clutter the FS section.

House deal fell through - not happy right now . . . excuse was terrible - we are NOT giving them their Due Diligence Fee back - pathetic / weird flaky stuff. We bought new suspension and tires for the '96 after we thought we were done - - I guess the Fee will pay for more than half :\

sucks happened to us twice last year

Does anyone need/can anyone use the front struts (coils+shocks) from a GX470? These have the electrically-adjustable shock settings. 8 yrs old, no leaks. Will let go for a 4- or 6-pack of my choosing; prefer not to ship. PM if interested.

^^ Reminds me. I have stock new 2nd Gen Tacoma front coils/springs and rear shocks (no leaf springs) also for beer or whatever - just need to get rid of them. I bought them from a guy who bought a new Tacoma and then swapped to a lift immediately.

Does anyone want a set of used 80 series brake rotors and pads? Free pick up in Charlotte

Front rotors are at 31mm thick (acceptable FSM thickness is 32-30mm) front pads are 5mm thick.
Rear rotors are at 17.5mm thick (acceptable FSM thickness is 18-16mm), pads are 4mm thick.

I didn't check the runout but their are no abnormalities in the rotors or pads. They are all level and smooth although a bit glazed.

I just changed them out and probably shouldn't have yet but am in the hunt for a firmer pedal for the wife to drive it. I ended up changing out the original flexible lines, I think that was the real issue as several were badly deteriorated. Need to bleed it though. By the way the Napa Branded Speed Bleeders are a waste of time.

Merry Christmas!

@stevezero timing chain kit is yours.

You want me to just give it to the other guys getting the springs, etc...???? And you can grab it from them.

Awesome, thanks. I can just catch up with phteven or Jason to get it. thank you so much
