They're sold out now but they have a lot of other TJM stuff left. You might be able to piece something together for cheap if you wanna search through Summit Racing.

So I can sell him my kit for $250 now, right? :grinpimp::grinpimp::grinpimp:

Anyone check this out yet?
offer still stands - I can get the number for you if you like. First glance from driving by: VERY clean. Dark tinted windows. No noticeable damage.

Or if you wanna just go see - it's on the corner parking lot across from the Walgreens in Bermuda Run.

Summit used to handle alot of distro for TJM now TJM is doing distro themselves directly to Jobbers.

Out of curiosity, how do you calculate your needed capacity on a kinetic rope? I see one rated for 131k lbs.... is that enough? ;)

Those who can tell us are doing their calculations now.

As a productive member of these boards, I am doing what I know best, too: posting pics that convey my feelings about this topic:

I'm in a class right now but will post up some example numbers when I get to lunch ....

Somehow I knew you couldn't resist...

Yeah, anyway .....

There are a number of things that aren't ideal but you'll still get the jest of it ....

Scenario .... Rig #1 nicely planted in the mud, Rig #2 doing the snatching. (Contrary to what YouTube wants you to believe, snatching is a last resort).

Suppose our snatching rig is 6000 pounds. It would need to experience ~22 g's of acceleration to snap a line rated at 131k lbs. That would likely include the failure of other items ... ripped frame, denture adhesive, and some connective organ tissue. (The heart rips loose from the aorta at ~40 g's). So the big line is serious over-"kill". More on him later.

The smaller line rated at 33,000 lbs brings the snap point down to 5.6 g's. This is still big but leaves some buffer supposing you really do experience a 3 or 4 g snatch.

So which is better? The 131K line is going to be very stiff, i.e. will behave more like a solid line, so stepping down to the "weaker" line will serve to absorb shocks better.

I'm shutting up now. :flipoff2:

Don't be discouraging - he is getting near retirement and he may not want to do this for us much longer!

There was a military trailer for sale on the side of the road yesterday on Rea Rd between Providence Rd and Colony/Rea Rds.
1990 M101A2. Not mine. I was finally back in the area today and got some pics. Looks really nice. No visible rust that I could find. Paint is peeling underneath. It had wooden upper sides and a cover that was pretty well tied down so I only got 2 interior pics. The Man tagged it with a code violation sticker today but didn't write in when it would be towed away. Might be able to score a good deal with that info.
