I agree with the advice that you should just bypass all that and wear a jacket.
They sell electric 12v heaters as well...
I would bypass or become very intimate with my cruiser being Valentines day and all its a good deal if I didn't have other projects going on in relation to cruisers I would buy it maybe he wants a 88 BMW instead I would trade him straight up for the cruiser.

So if I can get him below the $2700 I should buy it regardless? Lol.
I'd say as long as you're sure that there's nothing else wrong, and that the leak is confirmed to be in the heater core... $2700 is a great price.
causes of fluid on the floorboard(in order of pain)....
1. heater core...smells and feels like coolant and water. remove seats, remove most of dash, contort, cuss, scream, cuss more, alienate your family, conjure spirits, etc to replace it. Hope you got all the electrical connections separated without breaking a connector, and reconnected when you put the dash back together.
2. windshield seal leaking..smells like water..look for rust around edge of windshield frame.
3. sunroof drains clogged..smells like water..weed eater line down channels to clear blockage.
You can get a coolant hydrocarbon test kit at autozone, and follow the instructions to see if its got exhaust gases in the coolant. That will give you peace of mind or leverage on price (head gasket), or help you to decide if you want to deal with a project vehicle...
If you dont mind having a vehicle you can drive without heat, then you can bypass it totally, and just stock up on pocket hand warmers.

When you look at it. Look at the heater lines that go through the firewall. Try pushing the grommet back just slightly and see if it's wet. Sometimes it's not the heater core. A failed hose that's pressed up to the firewall grommet will leak water inside the truck when it's really the hose on the outside that is bad. Looks like those are the original hoses.

He said he had the radiator replaced. I will Probably just pass. I have enough to deal with right now. If anyone is interested I will be happy to check it out and arrange purchase, notary etc.

Based on some PM's between the 3 of us it appears both @sleepycruiser and @pkniland are passing on the '94. After some risk assessment I am doing the same.
Next.
I would still be interested, I just cant get it done in the two day time frame. If its still there when he gets back in town I hope to go take a look at it.
Let me ask a stupid question though. If it is the heater core all I would have to do is turn the heat off in order to drive it from Asheville to Charlotte correct?
