I dropped my truck off at the local shop this morning and the owner came out and said he had a cruiser in the back he was working on. The owner is looking to have some work done before he sells it. I do not know a price or the history yet, but I asked him to get me more information. I do not know much about 40's, if the price is favorable would anyone be willing to come to Wingate to take a look. Truck has very little rust, paint seems to be very good, electrical is bit of a mess, there were pistons in a catch pan in the back so I am thinking engine rebuild. the nut jobs have ruined it for the rest of us. Wish there was a way to know if these overpriced pieces of junk ever sell, and for how much.

now we have to think that a blown engine, cobbled together FJ40 listed for double its value is a 'good deal'

I did ask if it ran, and he said that it ran and drove into the shop. Beyond that I do not know.

That's a big assumption that the engine is blown just because there are pistons in a pan in the back. Doesn't look cobbled together to me, pretty good in fact. Little bit of wiring work and you've got yourself a solid 40. Besides, the guy might take $8k for it!
