I like what I've got

I'm selling my 2014 Tacoma TRD to buy a Tundra. I'll give Mud members a better price to make sure it goes to a good home.

I never really wheeled the Taco, it was just my DD and camping truck. The Tundra will fill the same role while keeping me in good standing with OPEC and making Lylia happy.

That'll be a nice change. Be real funny seeing you hopping into and out of one.

Happy wife, happy life. Are you getting a new tundra or used? I’m curious about the new engine compared to the ol 5.7.

The turbo v6 has a felt skid plate and the engine itself looks like a 1990's s***subishi engineer designed it :(

I got a 2015 with the 5.7.

Sounds like a perfect truck. What cab configuration? Your old one was a Std cab, wasn’t it?

This will be my 4th Tundra, all 5.7s. The first two were standard cabs, the third one was whatever Toyota calls the shorter 4 door cab, the same as the one I just bought.

I drove the new one and there is no way I would get rid of my 5.7 for it. I was very disappointed with it. Extremely laggy, next to no throttle response and the transmission felt sloppy. i had high hopes for the new tundra but i feel like Toyota dropped the ball, it could have been great.

In a few years it will be when they work the kinks out

Looking for some FJ40 riveted wheels.

Been reading and seeing on YT a lot of the quality issues have been ironed out for guys getting the 2023 Tundra. It’s actually eye opening to how little Toyota actually puts into quality control for these first model years.

The only way to go for these is the hybrid option. They rip.

I thought it was just an updated version of the 2GR-FKS but with turbos. Shouldn't be that many kinks.

Never buy the first year/edition of anything.
Cars, phones, operating systems, medications,.... the list can go on and on. I am still trying to get over the windows ME roll out
i have a first year 80 and 100 series, i guess ill never learn

We'll give you a mulligan on the 80 since it technically wasn't your choice, but too good of an offer to pass up...
