Well s***. Thanks John.8/19 or 8/20?
I posted it in the Gotham City forum also!
Disregard, did some more homework and correct me if I am wrong but we are wheeling at the campground?
Sounds awesome! I have a small off-grid camper, Encore ROG 12RKSS, would it be cool to bring this? I doesn't require any hookups.Yes the Cove is both the campground AND the off-road park as well.
We hold the event at what they refer to as Campground 6... it is a HUGH part with an open field in the center and everyone cams along the edges by and amoung the trees. There is a large fire pit area that is a great gathering place to enjoy some drinks and jokes and meet your fellows.
There are groups that have been coming to the event for years and they all have staked out their "spots" and always have their friends in those areas but there is no saved spots so you never know who your neighbors will be.
Running through the middle of the area are 2 camp roads that also lead right to the trails.. you will literally be about 100 yards from the trail heads!
The Club sets up the check in / prize tent right off the road in the middle for ease of access. We also try to stage the different groups in the middle as well. Normally we have colored flags... green blue ect... to try to line up everyone in the right spots. Be aware though that green trails at the Cove and HARD green and really are blues... and it goes dbl for the other trails. Some joke that the camp roads are actually green trails! LOL
Trail groups are limited in size ( we try to at least ) at about 8 to 10 per group. We also try to chose different routes so it isn't a big traffic jam out there... which still happens sometimes. We try to be in the lines at 9am and on the trails about 9:30....ish....sorta!
Lunch normally done out on the trail so have a way to pack a lunch and drinks.
Friday night the club has normally done burgers and hot-dogs for all before happy hour but other nights there are LOADS of groups of people making tons of food and are always happy to share with everyone! Trust me you will NOT go hungry!
While there are slit trench bathrooms at the camp site there are bathrooms that are nicer and have showers about an 8 minute drive away from camp. Bring wipes !!
You'll be fine on both the trails and with the camper....tons of space in the camp area and lots of trail options for everyone!Sounds awesome! I have a small off-grid camper, Encore ROG 12RKSS, would it be cool to bring this? I doesn't require any hookups.
Also, kinda excited and kind of nervous about the wheeling. I have been to Rausch with my Land Cruiser but pretty green overall. I assume a stock 250 on 33s would be ok on the "green" trails?
the camper will be just fine at the camp area there is plenty of room.... I would suggest getting there Thursday or Friday early if possible because things get a bit busy and packed on Sat morning.Sounds awesome!
