Good question - I have no idea how the stock running boards can support the load they do. When I took them off it was the lightest thing ever in comparison to the Slee sliders.

Nice one Willie. I can almost guarantee you there will come a day when you will be super happy you chose the Slees. They stick out just far enough to hold your panels off banks when 7 tons of cruiser slams sideways and strong enough to save your sills from rocks. They do all that while at the same time looking great. As Kreiten suggests: pics or it never happened. :)

Stainless steel silver or black infill panels? Slee sent me both at no extra cost. Thinking about trying the black panels one of these days.
Black infill is what I received and installed. I'll snap a photo here in a bit and post it.

First shot is no running boards

All iPhone photos - sorry but way to easy.

Function meeting Form.

You just gotta admit that looks good. Totally fit for purpose. And you will smile quietly to yourself when some spatially challenged mall wastrel dings their car door on your slider and your rig is left unmarked.

You got it. Just in time for O-yea

@Billfish I learn the most peculiar phrases reading your posts (i.e. wastrel ) haha.

On a non-related note, who knows who has the best prices on ARB tire carriers?

I have been saving my pennies, and will probably be ordering one in the next month. Oh how I wish Slee would have made more than one of those bumpers...:(

@Willy beamin , nice looking ride! Nice bike too, and is that a G-Wagen Powerwheels?

Thanks MScruiser or shall I say eagle eye - the bike is a gary fisher hifi plus fitted out with xtr componets. Bikes have advanced since I bought that one 8 years ago but it still shreds the trails. The G-wagon powerwheels is my daughters (3) roller and they love it - my wife found a screaming deal on Amazon one day and pulled the trigger. You'll be hunting for one soon so keep an eye on Amazon for deals.

Ah man, I'll never let my daughter drive a G-Wagon, I would hope by the time she is of driving age, I would have taught her better than that! No offense man!!! :flipoff2:

It was that or a jeep

that thing cost as much as a gently used 100 series.

Haha, but don't you wish you had one when you were a kid though!!

probably would have lost my virginity earlier

I called Low Range Off Road and ordered my ARB rear tier carrier from them as I had a gift card to help offset the cost. Looks like they are having a 5% off sale right now. No tax, free shipping.

Awesome!

I do not see the ARB carrier on the site though. Are they a site sponsor?

Install will be fun!!! Start saving up your patience credits, oddball tool cache and extra hours :)

I called with the part number and they ordered directly. They do not stock these in WA. It had to be built and shipped from Aus, I doubt you will find anyone with one in stock as of how few of these are sold in the states. Possibly Slee might have one. Regarding site sponsor, I am not aware. If posting non site sponsors is not allowed I will edit and remove.

FU...n. Knowing what I know now, I would have had this installed from the start when I had the bumper put on. Oddball tools, HOURS, forklift and extra hands are key too.

OHH just the swing out. PITA. We had to cut our own shims out of GR8 fender washers because their shims were FAR too thick to allow the swing out frame rubber bushing to fit around the bumper frame.

I would suggest getting an assortment of thicknesses at the HW store ahead of time (We used Tractor Suppoly) so you have some options - you'll need the ability to mix and match

Apologies for the @Desert Nomad pics again. The coating on my phone cam was scratched during this install. BTW some rubbing alcohol cleaned that scratched coating up later :)

We also had to use a diamond bit to enlarge the swing out pivot hole to a slightly larger dia because the top and bottom of the bumper frame were not square.

FUN!

Bring it on!!!!!!
