The joys of horse ownership...

Road trip info - 268 miles today at 75mph constant.
Running 35's = 3/4 tank of gas used....not bad at all. The tire noise was drowned out by WuTang and Black keys.

Does anyone know the bulb types for the tail lights, brake lights, and reverse lights?

Your horse sounds like an A-hole.
Hahaha she's a moody mare, females.. Doesn't matter what the species watch out when it's that time of the month.

Does anyone know the bulb types for the tail lights, brake lights, and reverse lights?

There was a thread a while back regardind swapping out bulbs to leds, I'll check my manual

Anyone?

My reverse lights SUCK!!

I really want to replace them with the brightest LEDs I can find. K rating be damned!

it appears to be the same vehicle

After this next snow storm hits within the next 48 hours we should post up in the picture thread of our rigs flexing out on snow plow banks.
and if you don't I will.

Has anyone tried replacing their tail lights / reverse lights with LEDs?

I HATE my reverse lights and I think I have the bulb type figured out from talking to Beno.

I replaced my lights on my FJ40, but it required load resistors to get them to work properly. Those things gave me a serious 2nd degree burn one time (I actually heard my finger sizzling, like bacon hitting a hot frying pan). I am hoping to not deal with those again.

Anyways, was just seeing/hoping I could find out if LED bulbs were plug and play like they are on many vehicles, or if they require the load resistors.

I tried LEDs as back up and rear plate lights on my 4Runner. Aside from failing my annual VA state inspection for having non-DOT approved bulbs, the back up lights didn't throw any more light than the stock bulbs, they were only whiter. Didn't give me bacon fingers though, so there's that...

Good to hear. Yeah, as to how much throw a bulb has, it all has to do with the number of bulbs vs. the claimed wattage (or so I have found). The companies like to advertise that they have a 10 watt bulb, when in reality, they have multiple low powered bulbs.

I have found that the new q3 or q5 Cree Based bulbs with a large projector bulb should actually give more throw, but there's where the question comes into play: will the large, high watt cree boards require a load resistor?

Haven't used them but people on here have ordered from them before.

Brake/tail lights aren't showing up for me but I'm sure once you know the "bulb type" it'll be easy to get the appropriate replacement. I think these shoild all be plug and play except the turn bulbs would need resistors to stop the fast flashing.

Any clue what bumper that is?

I used that same company when I bought my fj40 bulbs.

I just want to make sure that the 200 Series' computer could handle the draw of the high watt cree bulbs.

No - sorry
I saved the images to my desktop at home though. When I get home from work I'll see if there's a link attached. I found them surfing Google images. I'll let you know what I find or not find.
thanks

Looks like the approach angle might be a little bit better than stock with that front bumper... Might be easier to get a tire on an obstacle with that bumper compared to stock.
