I have a 1976 40 with a stuck odometer. I've taken it out multiple times and followed the instructions I found on these forums to clean it thoroughly but it just does not work. I bought one from a nice gentleman on eBay but it did not fit my instrument cluster. If anyone has any suggestions other than buying a completely new instrument cluster I would love to hear them.

on your original speedo, do you hook up the speedo cable and turn it with a drill in reverse direction? which is an easy way to check if it is working.

I did not do that, but I did take it all the way out and cleaned it thouroghly. All of he numbers turn fine except the white tenths won't turn the next digit. It is like the gear inside the odometer is worn down. Ideally I would like to buy an odometer from someone. Thanks..

Found it in a photo. PM me and we can work things out. I will test it tonight.
