O2 sensors--what are the best's? (1 Viewer)

I have a 1991 TLC. I want to replace the O2 sensors but wanted to know if there was a differance in the Left and Right sensors. Also wanted to know what are the best ones to get?

I am lookbing at Parts Geek but I noticed different part numbers for the left and right.

Two different harnesses lengths. I think the plugs are the same, but don't remember for sure.

As far as where to get them: OEM or Denso Direct, ONLY. You could get whatever floats your boat or budget, and they might work for a while, you might have to cut up the factory harness, you might....., Denso is an OE supplier for Toyota is the only reason I recommend them. Stay away from Bosch IMHO, haven't heard to many good stories about them.

I had to re-pin one of my plugs because the PO had dine a hack job. They probably spent more on the hack than if they had just bought a direct fit replacement.

OEM from CDan or any other dealership you can get a discount from.

I have had trouble with non-OEM 02s in the past. From my past experiences, everything engine and engine management related, i always go OEM. For other stuff, it depends.

I second Layonnn...I have tried aftermarket O2 sensors in the past and have never had success with them. They would always throw a code shortly after install. Bad luck perhaps, nevertheless, I now stick with factory O2 sensors. Touch base with CDan at American Toyota or Sam at Lowe Toyota for a good deal.

Get OEM
I just replaced mine on my 94
I got mine from Sam at Lowe Toyota here on the east Coast

FYI
The O2 Sensor kit I got from him came in Factory OEM packaging and it says NTK right on the side of the O2 sensor. It was plug and play.
This was a kit with 2 sensors for 93-94 which Toyota stopped doing last year
I believe I got his last kit
So not all sensors are Denso FWIW

I replaced both of mine with NTKs and haven't had any issues. I agree on getting ones with plug.

I bought some off eBay, "pec" brand. They both lasted a week.

I got Bosch ones to replace them, and they have been all good.

Yes. Noticable more power from replacing the upstream sensor.

I only buy OEM.
And I only buy OEM from Lexus dealers because Lexus is higher class than Toyota.
I only pay full price.
Then I get the sensors platinum plated to match the catalysts.
Then I feel good about myself because I have the most expensive and unique oxygen sensors that are better than anyone else's.

Ok...I ordered the new O2 sensors. Let's see if I get any improvements.

When I replaced mine about a year ago I went from 8.5 MPG to 12.5 MPG.
