78MPH impact with a 150lb whitetail deer makes a mess. The headlight was sitting on top of the hood after impact. Put it back in place and taped it on and drove it 15 miles to my inlaws. Besides the obvious, the oil or Trans cooler is now leaking. The core support is pushed back 2" on the passenger side and the radiator overflow is now touching the engine block. There's a touch of coolant seeping from somewhere above the skid plate too.

I'm looking at TJM because I don't have a plastic bumper to cut for the trim pieces. Any others I should be looking at? 2015-11-28 09.24.32.webp 2015-11-28 09.26.29.webp 2015-11-28 09.27.32.webp 2015-11-28 09.28.24.webp

Bummer! I feel for ya, man! I hate those deer crunchers! Messed up my Suburban once, then a rented Durango.

I hope you get it all straightened up.

Ouch!

Hey... Just a goofy thought... IF your insurance pays for a rental car while you wait... you might wanna do what I did, just for kicks...
When my car was in the the shop...I kept switching rental cars every day or two just to try out different cars. By the time I was done, I had spent time driving 4 different cars I'd been curious about. :) Was kinda fun.

If only they rented vehicles that were as nice as a cruiser...

Yeah I'm planning on doing the same thing with the rentals. Starting off with a Ram 1500 to tow the utility trailer home. I'll switch to a sedan or coupe Monday. I have a 72 Blazer in the garage for the days with nicer weather.

Bummer...This is the reason my first mod for my newly acquired 200 is going to be an ARB bumper, color matched with the body.

Did you keep the Deer? 150lbs translates to 60-80 lbs of decent venison. Honestly, that sucks...but that's what insurance and metal bumpers are for

I went back and it was mush. All 4 legs broken, neck broken, spine broken in 2 places, ribs/side busted. Any meat would be heavily bruised. It ended up about 80-100 yards down the road and a good 40 ft off the shoulder from the point of impact in the center of 3 lanes.

So the shop estimate came in at $10k. Add a grand for towing and another grand in rental car and it will be a $12k deer.

I called TJM and T13 is in stock in OH but no T3s available for 4-6 weeks. I sure do wish the T13 uprights weren't slanted.

Any forsee able issues with a stock suspension for now?

I guess I'll be the first to say that the cruiser help up incredibly well. 78MPH into a deer totals most cars regardless of age/mileage.

What year is your truck? Getting close to have option to total and maybe buy it back.

$10k is not close to totaling a 200 series no matter what year.

200's only get as old as 2008...

sorry, was thinking 100s. too many forums ;-)

2008 with 150k on it. Book is still over $30k. Nowhere near totaled.

Dont forget to ask about diminished value with jake from state farm

A ford escape recently ran out in front of me. I ordered the ARB. It is sitting at the body shop waiting to be put on. :) $13,000 and change. I drove home. She rode in an ambulace and the escape had to ride on a wrecker. I caught her in the passager side right at the B pillar.

Aw man... :( So sorry.

Thanks but it happens. I think she was alright. She said she felt shaky after initially saying she felt fine. It didn't hurt me at all. And the truck, well it's just a truck. But now it will be a truck with a bad ass bumper........and a winch, if I can ever pick a winch.

Has anyone wrecked one with the ARB or TJM already on it? How did the bumper fair? How did the other vehicle/deer fair?
