I’m pretty sure I’ve finally decided to sell my 80. I’ve had it for close to 5 years and it was my parents for a few years prior to that so it’s been in the family for a while. I’m not super excited about selling but I think I’m ready to start working more on finishing my fj40 and need the funds
Great truck and I’m constantly getting compliments on it. I’ve done a tremendous amount of work on it and it has been base lined. I would drive it anywhere and do.
About a year ago / 3k miles ago I was tired of chasing leaks and wanted the 80 top notch. So I did what anyone that’s on Mudd too much would do. I pulled the drivetrain. (Best decision ever)
Had the top end rebuilt
Replaced every gasket/seal
New hoses
Belts
Overhauled the ac system (new compressor, expansion valve, drier, etc.)
Injectors rebuilt
Radiator
Fan clutch
Throttle cable
I did all the while your in there kinda stuff.
o dings or dents and practically no rust.
No check engine lights.
OME J’s and heavies with BFG 315’s last winter/1500 miles ago.
Truck is great but it’s not perfect. Here are the not so good. Which are all easy fixes but I’m wanting to start the 40 now so I can’t seem to find the motivation to do them.
Dome lights are finicky (I think it’s the rear passenger door switch)
A little drive line vibration since the lift. Not bad but probably needs a dc driveshaft
Occasionally the passenger side carpet gets wet with rain.
Sun roof is sealed shut
Knuckles are leaking again. Not bad and I just lengthened the breather because I suspected the original was clogged. May fix it but not sure yet
All in all it’s awesome and I hate to sell it but I hope it goes to someone on Mud if I do. That’s why I’m listing it here first. I’m in Dawsonville Ga and asking $20k
