hey guys, about 1 month ago I purchased a 96 LC; super clean in and out. Everything was great, then I checked under the rig. It had a few leaks . Took it in and they said it was nothing major ( I was still under the 15/500 mile warranty). They said it was "just"the main seal, that the seal was only $30.00. I go to Toyota tell them my story, and they said "yes, the part will be around $30, but labor will be $2,200!!. By this time I am over the warranty. I call upset to Royal Kia where I purchased it, asked for the general manager, and told him what had happened, that the service advisor said it was nothing major, that what you get when you get and old car, price reflects the leaks ($7,000, not cheap, could have found one cheaper, but this was ok with me do to the overall condition of rig) sales manager said too bad. So the GM of Kia tells me, "i apologize, this is NOT how we do business her. Bring it in tomorrow, I will have my service manager look at it, and if it has what they said it did we will fix it at no cost to you. Sure enough it was the main seal. He gave me a loaner car and fixed the rear main seal, they did the main crank seal, and both oil pan seals.

great guys, very happy

Thats great! Usually in life you just have to speak up and state your case and a reputable business that makes big $ doesnt want there name in the dirt so they take care of you. Never hurts to ask for the GM right. Nice Rig

BTW, I was really impressed by the Kia Sorento I had as a rental two years ago

Pretty impressive. That really makes me think all those Kia dealerships aren't fly by night type stuff. Good deal for you for sure.

Good to hear of a dealership with ethics, didn't know they still existed.
