I don't have the D light in the cruiser I got a few weeks ago and I like it that way. I don't need a light in the dash showing I'm in drive, I do like that it lights up when anything but drive is selected.

This is a feature imo. Like others have said, I don't need to know I'm in D, but I do need to know if I'm in something else.

I've been d-less (har har) since I bought the truck in April with 199,700 on it.

Contrary opinion here. I like things to work, including the D bulb, so I replaced mine. We are all OCD on Mud. Me included.

Bought the 80 with around 208k on it with no D... Odometer is now somewhere over 280k and the D has all of the sudden decided to start working again. Happened at the end of a week long expedition trip so I'm guessing the filament on the bulb got jostled into to place... not expecting it to last long lol

Bought mine last week at 228k on it with no D. Unfortunately, Maryland inspection requires it to work. I'll try the technical tap and see if that works first though.
