@roadstr6 had the great idea for a little New Year’s Day Relic Run. So, charge the battery in your relic, top off the oil, and pack some snacks. The plan is an easy 1 hour back road drive south to 40 Acre Rock on New Year’s Day. Once there, we can walk around the unique geological feature before heading back on a similar, but a different route. Plan on a 4 hour round trip.

Meet at the Waverly Chick-Fil-A (11530 Waverly Center) at noon. Depart by 12:15pm. Plenty of time to shake off any NYE hangover.

Destination is 40 Acre Park Heritage Preserve. Pretty cool area for a little day hike. Forty Acre Rock - https://www.sctrails.net/trails/trail/forty-acre-rock

Yes to pets, kids, new drivers, family members, etc.
No to excuses on why your relic is parked and you made a “last minute” change to drive your comfy LX470 with heated seats. Consider it a 2025 Relic Run shakedown before the real event in the Spring.

12/31-DRIVER UPDATE:

Depending on interest, we could swing by my Marshville place afterward for a couple of beverages. Maybe some axe throwing or hot laps in the Razor. It's kind-of on the way back toward Charlotte.

Luke is hoping to bring out the Patrol. Few things to tweak but it should be “ready”. Let’s see those other relics.

Sounds like fun, sadly I am the relic around here. Maybe catch yall at Dave’s oasis

All are welcome. Come on out. I’m just poking those with relics that need to be driven occasionally to keep the seals from drying out.

I guess it’s time to get off my lazy bum and do the somewhat “annual” oil change . Giddy up!

With all these relics rattling down the road, it’s good to know your back up shop & Landcruiser parts depot is close by.

I think I can I think I can I think I can! My wife said she would come too. So planning on it.

I will put it on my calendar. My companion may not participate if she is the only female, so TBD.

My wife said she wanted to go on the ride, and wants to explore the trails there.

My bride has a companion disclaimer for #3
I was not was wrong as she thought I was.

i.e., After 38 years, this disclaimer has ensured that she has never said, and never will say, that I am right on any issue/topic or that she was wrong.

I hope the ride goes well for her and she has a good time.

@lowtops Bring the GT so I'll have a relic to ride.
🤔 I might bring it. It’s period correct. lol
The gear set is missing one ball bearing and the rear wheel is not true anymore but it will get you down the road

John, We will have an empty seat if you want to go. Come by my house about 11:30 and hop in with either me or Nathan. We decided to each drive relics, so you’re welcome to ride.
