Thats very odd to not have a heater vent as this is a late 65?
According to SOR build date was between April/May. I would say that’s early 65 or am I reading it wrong?

I like to refer to the registry here, as the sor vin’s are for all 45 lwb, swb, and lv wagon. Your vin is pretty late for a shorty removable top truck. These were the least produced as it was a short window of production. Thus making it the rarest 45 pickup!

The original radiator overflow nipple was gone so i had the neck replaced the radiator back flushed and i put in a new Tstat. I ordered new hoses but i think they were for a 2F and didn't work so ill have to send those back. In the mean time i figured id fill her up and take her for spin. I really enjoy driving it, It may be on the top of my list. Also the windshield vent is a game changer, I don't know why they got rid of it.

Interesting overload spring setup.

Yes very interesting! When I first looked under there I was pretty surprised. It all seems to be well done and thought out.

@Unimogguy if I had to guess I would say the springs and ubolts were a generic kit. The stops welded to the frame are custom.

Here’s a few more pics of them. Sorry it’s all dirty.

I think I figured out what the holes are In the bedside. Found a pic of this truck and they are almost an exact match so I assume it had a similar set up. Looks like they bolted through the bed to support the vertical wood post. Funny this truck was for sale on mud in 2013 in Boulder.

Great lookin rig, beautiful. I've not seen a spare mounted like that. I swapped a 2F into mine as the original engine was shot. Out of all our cruisers the pickup is my favorite to drive, especially with the 2F. Congrats on the find.

I stole the tires off my 40 to see how they’d fit. I think they’re a hair big, they would be perfect if the truck had a 2.5 lift. I think it still looks/drives great and plan on keeping them on the 45. Ill find a different set for the 40 since I have more size options.

I will likely move the rear axle back an inch. I’ve done some searching on lifts, I know cruiser outfitters sells the OME kit but it’s pricey.
I’ve read that swb and lwb share the same spring size, can anyone confirm this? I also read that fj60 rear springs are very similar in length. I still don’t think I’ve found a situation where someone actually used them.
Can anyone confirm what options I have to bring the back end up?

Rear springs are the same on swb and lwb. Been around 45’s for 30 yesrs, never seen or heard of 60 springs being used..
