UPDATE: My tuner has thrown in the towel and is sending it off to another tuner. He just can't figure it out. Spoke to the new tuner and he's confident that once the truck is brought to him he'll be able to get it up to par fairly quickly.

Guess how long he thinks it'll take?

Nah... more like a month or so.

Valentines day present anyone?

 This new tuner sounds about as confident as the first tuner.

What's the name of the new shop?

niced up motorsports

He does almost exclusively Supras.

Spoke to him for a while - seems a LOT more knowledgeable than the last, in fact he's the "guru" that my first guy has been talking to. He's not confident because he doesn't want to overpromise/underdeliver like the last guy... Hasn't even seen the truck in person yet.

Lesson learned: If you want something done right and fast, pay a LOT to have someone who really knows what they're doing. The alternative is to save money by doing it yourself. Problem is, I don't have the time, or an inside location to work in.

So all that's left to do is wire up an ECU with a custom wiring harness then a street tune... I mean, how hard could it be?

Ask ramon, he should know all the insides of a ecu. I am looking forward to see this truck.

Or just leave well enough alone. :p

Due Diligence :)

Hopefully the Guru can make it all work.

In the mean time, I have this bridge................

I thought it was a grubby Stan.

Last post was 2 WEEKS ago so needed to give this a bump.

Tomorrow I'm towing it to tuner #2.

Should have a list of options from him next week. His whole 'you sure you only want 500hp? I can make 1000 or more with that engine.' Was tempting.... But at this point I don't want to start opening up the engine. ECU and tune, and that's it for now. I wanna drive it for a few months before I start messing with it again.

Nah, you'll be wanting the extra power in far less than a few months...14 days, tops.

Hope there aren't any bridges. ;)

...or low flying aircraft

I will freely admit that I was thinking the same thing!

Must have been slightly lower than the standard height...

I just realized, as I was about to make a 2-week joke at your expense, that my suspension guy has had my 80 since October. Every week it's "Been busy man, but I will have it out in 2 weeks." It's not like a custom 3 link, it's a 6 inch Ironman lift.
