still in process

my next confusion are i would say lack of knowledge is about two things (1) ring and pinion gears
(2) turbo

RING AND PINION

What will be my expectation are usage of the truck?

purely a expedition truck, mainly on highways but going to do Lah and Laddakh trip which is considered to be one the most derivable high altitude mountain peaks,

My worries - will i be able to cruise whole day long in highways at speed more than 100 kmph? when hit the mountain should not strain my engine nor my drive train.

My constrain - 1986 2H with H55 5 speed, running on 35" and 4" Iron man lift heavy duty.

Do i need to re gear? if yes which one suits me best? 4.11? 4.55?

And for turbo's think i need one but what is the exact model any link for ebay?
any dealer? anyway going through lot of detail thread will decide soon :mad:

Updates for the week

Need help, have sourced 2 to 3" inch body lift bushings from 4X4 Crawlers and the truck already sits in Iron Man 2" suspension lift please suggest me what are the things i will be in need like extended brake lines etc to compromise the total lift, urgent help needed as i will be heading towards Fremont, CA next week for a 2 weeks training program and please suggest me where i can source the parts around there.:clap:

For the body lift I think really all you are going to need is some extended brake lines, dont think you will need anything like a high-steer kit or anything like that.. Since you will be in Fremont I would hit up Georg @ Valley Hybrid in Stockton (probably the nearest shop), he is OrangeFJ45 on here.

And good on you for replacing all that rust, she is looking great and it seems like you are a very capable and competent welder.

You are going to run the 35" tires? Do you already have these mounted on rims? I would suggest you stick with 33" tires and go with as small of a body lift as needed to make it work with the 2" suspension lift. Disregard that if you already have it all worked out and you can clear the 35".

Gregnash- thanks:clap::clap: for your info about George I've interact with him on different occasions will talk to him and see how he can help me.

essar5- thinking of running 35" but haven't decide on it may be in a month are two i'm considering 33" anyways. first wanted to get the truck rust free then mechanical works like winch as mine is a PTO winch which i already got the the lathe works done like changed 3 bearings and i primary gear all done and ready to mount then fabricate bumpers, painting and then decide on tire so i'm still long way to decide on tire.:bang::wrench::steer:

Ah yes, priorities, those sound like good ones.

Your project sounds similar to the one I am starting. I have a slightly rusty BJ60 body and a very rusty frame. I am swapping the frame and patching the body as I uncover rust.
If it were me, I would go with a 33" tire at most for this type of build. You shouldn't need to regear to turn them with your 2H, turbo would be sweet though. Body lift shouldn't be necessary either but I would recommend new bushings from 4crawler, be sure to measure the frame buckets as the sizes are all over the place.

essar5- bro actually my bushings where totally rotten and not able to get the measurement so Mr. Brown from 4Crawler gave me universal bushings and hope it should be fine to go with, regarding the reason i bought 2 inch lift block is since i'm there and changing it thought of going for lift so as to accommodate 33" are 35" tire in future. regarding turbo i couldn't find a suitable turbo for my 2H and members here gave me more into technical specifications then on a lay man terms are if someone can spot me to a ebay seller of a turbo would be better ha ha, yes i'm a hard working guy and not a so smart guy. but please do not direct me to AXT turbo are some other too expensive ones which is running more than my truck itself in terms of $$$.:bounce::bounce:
