Hello -

After much debate, I've decided to try to sell our Pig. I just haven't fallen in love with it like I have with some of my other projects and having 4 vehicles is kind of silly for 2 drivers. . . I've been waffling back and forth for a few weeks, but here we are. . .

Here's a link to the ad. https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-classifieds-corner/605316-1972-fj55-sale.html

If you're interested, please feel free ask any questions etc....

Thanks,
Tom

Wow! I am kind of surprised after all the careful work you put in...

But if it is not growing on you, might as well find someone who wants it!

Best of luck with the sale.

A final update and some closure.

I delivered the '55 to its new owner/keeper yesterday; it will stay in Idaho! He's a great guy (I'm pretty sure we're actually related, high up the tree) and I'm excited to have found it a good home. If he starts a new thread here, I'll be the first to subscribe!

Thanks to everyone here for all their help through the process of getting it up and running and back on the road. This forum is one of the truly rare gems on the generally full of nonsense internet.

I’m not sure I’m worthy of carrying the mantel of this project from here on out, but I’m going to give it a try. I think everyone will agree that Tom’s thread here was a pleasure to read. I glommed on from the very beginning and anticipated every new discovery he made and problem he tackled. As I mentioned to Tom, I appreciated his philosophy of rehabilitation as much as anything. “Get it running; fix the mechanical deficiencies; clean the interior to the point where he didn’t gag when driving it; and have fun doing it.” I can’t think of a better way to summarize my own goals for the project; and with the support of this forum, I’m sure it will be fun.

So now…It’s sitting in my garage and I’m like a kid at Christmas opening the coolest gift ever. Every box is a new discovery…new parts, old parts, dirty things, contraptions that I’ve only heard mentioned here, and a few pair of “new project goggles” that Tom was kind enough to pass along. So hats off to Tom for making this possible (and delivering it to my dooryard)… I promise to take good care of her.

Good to have you on board. It seems these pigs never die, they just get passed around. Good luck, taking her to a new level.

Yay, I'm glad you're going to keep updating on the truck. It looks like it's in great shape.
