New StopTech brake kit

Dimpled and grooved was my choice, cross drilled are a PITA when they are used in off road conditions, mud is rare here but but once you have been through the deep stuff you will know what I am talking about.

I don't have any issues about cross drilling causing cracks, that does not happen if the procedure is carried out correctly, apart from the obvious sports car use, 50 + ton trucks use them without issue, just avoid mud if you can.

For $475 that's some cheap insurance on what is arguably the Land Cruiser's weakest link but should be one of the most important upgrades.

Ive run the Fleet pads with their slotted fronts and standard rears for over a year on both my Cruiser and TJ. So Far they stop harder than any pad/rotor combo I've used yet. My ABS is disconnected (for now) due to part time kit and I can get the brakes to just lock up if I panic stop. I run 35's on my cruiser and my TJ with body armor. I pull a small 1500 lb trailer and do a bit of mountain driving as well as a bunch of traffic. As I expected, the slots give me brake dust in the front. I'm sure there's better out there but this is what I'm staying with.

I'm stuck between going with the stop tech option or oem rotors with ebc pads? Any more final opinions? Price comes out to about the same.

I used the stoptech kit with good results (including stoptech pads). My favorite brake pad is the Axxis Ultimate. Australian brand, that I think has gone out of business, but you can sometimes find their pads dirt cheap on Rockauto.com. Seriously, like $7 cheap and they stop like the dickens--just a lot of dust.

I will also echo the sentiment that it is a real pain to clean out cross-drilled rotors if you ever get stuck in the mud. Ih8mud for real and avoid it whenever possible, but I got good and stuck (up to the hubs) at one point and it took several attempts over the course of a few weeks to get all the crap out of the rotors. Almost would have been easier to just change out the brakes
