Currently I have Alpine INE-W940 head unit with front and rear cameras. Great setup.

Need to get a unit for my 2nd cruiser. Would like to spend less and get more.

Any suggestions on good head units, double din and that provide multi camera input and control?

Just because I am going to swap out my Alpine HU and DVD player with 13" flip down. Don't need DVD and would like the fancy back up camera and forward facing camera (or undercarriage camera would be cool too). My stereo is 12-13 years old. It needs upgrading...

There are some android car stereo units that may work look joying or pumpkin android stereo. Been looking but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Same here with pumkin Android device. I was reviewing these last night and very nearly pulled the trigger on one.

I'd never even heard of Pumpkin before. Are they any good?

I live in Iowa. I don't have traffic. :flipoff2:

Not sure why I would want a DVD in my truck or even a CD for that matter. I can't remember the last time I held a CD never mind played one. The traffic function is useful but with Google maps etc on the android device you have plenty of traffic options. I do like radio and I gather from reviews that the pumpkin radio is pants. The alternative is to stream the radio from the internet which is what I do today but this won't suit everybody.

The price point is attractive for Pumpkin, but I think I will have some regrets if I don't get HD radio and live traffic reports on the Navigation function.
With Pumpkin you need internet connection to have google maps show you the traffic. Maybe you can have your phone set on tethering function for that purpose.

Satellite radio is also not an option. I listen a lot in Sat Radio and HD AM radio. I can't survive without live traffic reports on my navi.

Both Kenwood and Pumpkin have CD/DVD function. I really don't care about it. I don't use it.

Once you get used to some features and you use them daily, you'll soon lear you can't live without them when you drive a different car without those features. I now hate rentals.

I also have something positive to say about Pumpkin.

I saw a pic of Torque app. That's really cool. I don't have to use my phone for that app.

I think if the pumpkin unit was about $100 more expensive I most likely would have bought one already. It sounds like too much functionality for the price - a bit like the too good to be true stories...

OK, I like the Kenwood. That seems to be equivalent to the Alpine. Perhaps with a few more options. Next thing is to see how much they nickel and dime you for the add-ons.

I just bought the Pioneer 5700BHS for $275 shipped from NewEgg, pretty good reviews, looks nice, does everything I need to do and it's backed by Pioneer. I too think the Pumpkin does a little too much for it's price tag so opted for a trusted brand

From all I've read about DD Nav units in 80's, the consensus is don't waster your time/money with the navigation. It's too far down and away to be used safely and rather difficult to see if it's sunny. Due to reading this over and over again I went with the Kenwood 372BT. Everything I need minus Nav.
