So I overhauled my rear brakes this weekend. Now, I have a very distinct knocking/pinging noise emanating for the rear driver's side wheel. Noise seems to present each time the wheel rotates one full revolution, forward and reverse. Definitely gets louder when I depress the brake pedal. I'm also getting a godawful squeal when I pull the parking brake at any speed.
In reading, there are conflicting reports that the rear rotor has to be clocked in some sort to the axle/hub. I'm confused by this. Aside from ensuring that the parking brake adjustments port in the rotor is aligned with the parking brake star adjuster, did I miss something?
Going to check the brake dust shield and the little slide clips the pads rest upon. Needless to say, it's all coming back apart this evening, but hoping somebody could clarify the brake rotor alignment, or offer other suggestions?
