I currently own a 1977 FJ40 RHD New Zealand rig...all stock...bought it in 2004.

Sold my first FJ40 (78) last year after owning it since 1987...been a casual TLCA member ever since.

Having some minor cancer repaired over the winter... ('An ounce of prevention' as they say.)
Afterward she'll get a new exterior paint job.

I wanted to join so I could ask some questions about the stock colors for latches, wheels, etc.
I will be posting soon (with pics) to find out more...

For now I just want to say hi.
Ross

welcome ... it seems almost impossible to get away from 40s once you've had one, lol ...

Welcome. Great information and great people on here.

Make sure your bezel is right side up before posting pics. Just sayin.

These were taken right after I bought it...looks the same today except for some cracked upholstery, tiny bit of rust on the door bottoms and a bit duller paint finish...both will be addressed this winter. Thinking about going back to the split rims...maybe even the original bias-ply tires too...

nice, love the colour ... nice Jeep in one of the pics ... I had an 84 CJ for 9 yrs ... it had its issues but never let me down from a drivetrain perspective ...

welcome to Mud :)

being a long time tlca guy.... ever goto any of the catamount cruiser challenges? there are quite a few NH guys in the Yankee Toys club...

ever goto tippin rock? link: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/tipping-rock-photos.178861/

got a few Catamount CCC pics here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/johnnycs-resto-3.408743/page-16

Catamount? Yup - went to a few. 1 or 2 of were in Western MA, right?
I'm terrible with names, but maybe we met there. I had a white '78 back then, and my BIL had a red '78 - he won a Old Man Emu suspension at one rally - Ted Brown installed it.
Tipping Rock doesn't sound familiar, but I do remember Tim Wilson - he bought his green truck off my best friend - haven't bumped into Tim in years.

I knew I bought the souvenier T-shirts for reason... Just dug out my third annual shirt from 1996... Hard to believe it was that long ago

I recognize Tim Wilson's green ('78?)...and maybe one other (Ted Browns fully restored powder blue?)... Not sure if one of the white ones in front is mine...if I could read the plate, it would have said CRUZAH. Those sure were fun times...I haven't seen that many cruisers in one spot since...very cool. Thanks for sharing.
