Hi all...I just picked up a 88 fj62 that I think is pretty nice...
Can't find a speck of rust any where...
It's got 199 k but runs and drives good
Valve cover is leaking oil
The biggest problem I've found so far is the tail/brake lights are not working...
I've always loved these trucks and could not pass it up when my neighbor said he would sell it to me for 2,500...
I already have a 1013 fj cruiser setup for overlanding but I'm excited to get this one set up also...
I'll be lurking in the forums trying to learn as much as I can about this truck...

Congratulations and welcome!

$2500 and no rust? I would look very hard for something wrong if I were you, it's one of those to good to be true moment.
Other than that Welcome to Mudsanity and open your wallet. Good luck and to make it official :flipoff2::flipoff2: (Mud Welcome).

My girlfriend is from gig harbor and her parents live about 200 m from the bridge on the right
I'll be driving my 60 up there next year for the family outing. Will let you know where it is as we have set aside a large private camping area.

YES. Please do I would love to meet up and get some inspiration from your awesome looking rig....

Sounds like a plan. PM me your email. Address/ contact info.

Nice score, I can't say I know that cruiser.

I know Minter Creek well, I am in downtown GH. But am all over the Gig Harbor area. Lived here all my life.

There are a ton of cruisers Gig Harbor beside the 10 I have ;) my 60 is blue(arb, 33's etc), my wife's 62 is champagne with arb and tall skinnies....both were local Gig Harbor Cruisers.

Got a great local shop if you need it, I got the son a 77 fj40 last year that I found in artondale for $2500, worth way more but passed on for what I had in it..better to have my mechanic learn cruisers than for me to keep another. He lives in Wauna, it's red, white spoke and white pin striping

More than welcome to get ahold of me and come by.

John
