If it is an expo type bumper, make it full-size, coming over the lights and almost hood height for rad protection. While overkill for most and it is going to be big and heavy. Your other bumper can fill the slot of light and nimble. If I was an out on a long unsupported adventure away from populated areas, I would want the bumper that if I ever had to use it (accident, animal, swerve, etc) it would provide the maximum protection to my truck and vials. those being headlights, radiator, trans cooler, winch etc.
I recently had to serve to avoid hitting a stay dog. I was in town doing maybe 25-30mph. I hit one of those large metal lamp posts that have a square cast metal base. They appear to break away and are quite flimsy, but even with the Slee, I had substantial damage to the hood, and the front of the bumper and winch were pushed in enough to make them unusable.
